UPDATE: Leaning the screen against the fireplace at a slant didn't work since the feet weren't completely on the floor, so the third thing I tried was setting it upright and flush once again and then putting a heavy brass pot up against it (see second photo, newly added). That must have been enough to stabilize the screen because it made it through the night without crashing over. It really is a lovely screen. And, although the package arrived damaged, open, and with all the pieces loose inside (thanks a lot, UPS), the screen wasn't damaged. That's a strong testament to how well made it is.I really like the clean design and superior craftsmanship. However, I wanted a screen that fits flush against my fireplace, and this one doesn't. (Accurate pictures of different views need to be added.) My photo shows how it looks from the side with the 4-inch stabilizers sticking out the back. It's not a good look and it's in the way since I have to manuever around my fireplace. So I removed the stabilizers and put the screen flat against the fireplace. That looked really nice, just like I wanted. But about 10 minutes later, I heard a loud crash and found that the screen had fallen over. So now, I've got it slanted up against the fireplace, which isn't the best look, either, and I'm just waiting to see if it's going to come crashing down again. For the money, I really wanted to like this screen more, but I'm disappointed. Also, I was confused by the 3 different screws and allen wrench included that have no use nor purpose. Just not a great experience overall.

This is the 2nd screen we have bought from Napa Forge Pilgrim over the years (for different fireplaces). These screens are SO well made and this clean design works well for all home styles. We had some questions about a part and the customer service was super responsive and immediately resolved everything. 5 stars!

We have a new puppy. This screen was perfect for keeping her out of the glass bottom and protected from the fire. It’s simple, and allows you to see the logs, glass and flame. Nothing to assemble. Sturdy. Absolutely perfect!!

It is elegant in its' simplicity. Fits up against the fireplace so all you see is the fire. Which is the point I believe as well as complete safety from embers.

We wanted a fireplace screen that was simple, modern in style and with an unobstructive view of the fire. Most importantly, it has to be flush with the fireplace wall so we can be sure no ash is flying out of the fireplace. This screen deliveries it all. We love that it's functional, stylist and has a reasonable price. The only concern we had was that the picture looked like it was silver-ish color even though the description stated it's "Black Finish". It turned out to be true black which was just what we wanted.The assembly is simple, no tool required, and it's pretty sturdy. Overall we are very happy with this purchase.

I needed a very simple, unobtrusive screen to keep my cat from using the fireplace as a litter box. This screen was just right, fairly easy to assemble (an instruction sheet would be helpful for the mechanically challenged) and goes with my marble fireplace nicely. It is light, easy to move, fits right up against the fireplace, and practically disappears when the fire is lit.

This screen is the same as they describe. It looks lighter in the photo than in real life, but the description says black and that is correct. It is very simple and blends in without standing out- which is what we wanted.
