I bought this tool to change the seals on the power trim on my 60hp Yamaha outboard motor. It worked perfectly, made the job a snap. This is a high quality tool. I would recommend it. It’s a bit pricier than other tools I found on Amazon but well worth the investment.

Works for 2005 SHOWA tilt/trim unit. This is for the center tilt rod. Definitely don’t screw the three pins all the way tight! Be nice if washers were included to keep them tight. Quality product otherwise!

Fools rush in and the pins may pop out. Dont put all of your faith in this magic tool. You still need to use your head and some muscle. Be certain you apply even balance and pressure . Be certain you apply common sense. This tool worked for me on a stubborn salt water TT cap. First attempt using no patience, common sense, or proper balancing saw the tool {pins}pop out and scar the holes. Whos fault was that? Mine or the tools. Second attempt , patience and common sense and properly applied pressure . Movement. Nice. Continued to use the tool and off came a stubborn cap. Its a great tool and will work for you. You just need to know to work with it.. When other TT come to me for repair I look forward to purchasing other sizes as needed. Perhaps some caps just wont come off. That can happen. But, for the ones worth removing this tool works. It is made well and will last forever. I will be taking on more TT work in the future.

works great, no slipping. i cut a pvc pipe, place over the ram with the tool installed, and lower the motor til it leans on the tool to lock it in place while i crank on it with the breaker bar.

I'm glad I listened to other reviews and got this instead of a universal gland nut wrench. I had to use this tool and a 24 inch breaker bar to get it to move. This tool bit in and turned it no prob without damaging anything. Being that this tool is cheaper than a new end cap, and if you damage the end cap you might not even be able to get it apart, it's really a no brainer. Yes it's expensive but if you step on a Snap-On truck and see what they charge for specialty tools of the same quality, you'll see that this isn't really very expensive. I can recognize and appreciate quality. This is as good as any tool I own.
