Secured. Spacious. Easy install.
I’ve had 2 other bags from different brands and this one is really well done. We didn’t have roof racks so we put all 6 hooks on and it felt very secure. I had 6 luggage cases varying in size plus 2 bags and two beach chairs, I moved them around and got my desired fit and the bag was closed completely. I could have gone for the bigger size but the medium bag worked wonders. I only hit a small area of rain but it stayed dry from that so I can’t really say how waterproof it is but so far so good. The bag only shifted a minor amount after traveling 964 miles one way and then back. I didn’t use the lock yet but I attempted to fold it back up into its own traveling back, which could be a bit bigger but that’s a minor thing. Another minor thing I would mention is bugs. You will have to carefully clean the bugs off the front. If I could suggest any accessories I would say it would be nice if this bag came with a little tarp piece that covered the bag just to add some extra security from rain/snow. And maybe some shield for the front to keep bugs off. Again those are just ideas if the company ever wanted to add to these bags and that’s not a gripe at all. It’s very easy to install follow the directions but there are also many quick videos on YouTube about it. It’s quick to set up and make sure your zipper is towards the back. Also the no slick pad that came with it is really helpful . My first trip with this bag was very helpful and cleared up a lot of space for my family of 6 so im glad I bought it and will use it again. Also I got the sale on it so that made things even better for the price.

This is a review from a “just a girl” point of view!
Alright, got this because I was moving from Wyoming to San Diego. Had no idea how to set it up, didn’t plan in advance, and surprisingly, I loaded my car just a few hours before leaving and it WAS SO EASY! Did it all by myself. Didn’t need a man or extra hands. So if I did it, you sure can do it too! It fit 3 huge moving duffel bags and a few other small packages. When I left, I was honestly so scared about this thing on top of my car, for the first few hours I drove slow, no music, just listening for any possible noise. But let me tell you something: this thing made it all the way to San Diego intact! It handled light rain, the Vegas and California heat, and some insane wind in Nevada! I stopped a bunch of times to check the straps, but it held up perfectly. I gotta say, it definitely affects the car’s aerodynamics, especially in really windy areas. There were a few moments when the wind was so strong I could feel it pulling the car a bit, it didn’t feel super stable at times, so I just slowed down to be safe. Overall, totally worth it! I’d 100% recommend it, just make sure to tighten the straps well and you’ll be good to go.

Review after putting 2600 miles on this bag
I am actually decently surprised by this bag. I just returned after a 2600 mile road trip with my family from Seattle to Southern California and back. Overall I am satisfied with this product. I got the 15 cubic feet model and strapped it to our 2012 Prius V and it was more than enough space for all our camping gear, pillows, blankets, and eventually dirty clothes bags. Durability: Only issue here was when we left to head back home, I noticed a few holes in the underside of the bag. I didn't store anything sharp in it so I am at a loss how they got there. Could have been giant desert spiders or my sister's dog. Either way, it made me think this bag is probably a one time use type thing. Weather resistance: I can't really speak to the water/weather resistance as we encountered virtually no rain during this trip except for a brief morning shower at my sister's house in the desert. Everything was dry inside after the rain. Straps: I read other reviews that said the straps needed to be tightened every hour or so at the beginning, but this was not my experience. I never felt the need to pull over and check the straps, other than at pit stops. The straps held up even though I averaged 70 mph, with a maximum speed of 80 mph for a few brief stretches. The only notable issue with the straps was after driving through a heavy side wind for about 60 miles, the straps on the side that got hit the most seemed a bit looser. Other than that, no issues with the straps. I really dislike how the hooks go under the weather stripping, which causes an annoying sound as you drive. MPG: I noticed this bag produced significant drag, reducing my average MPG from the expected 40 to 34 by the end of the trip. I've done big trips in this Prius before and the MPG has at most reduced to 38 when there's a lot of mountain passes/inclines. So it definitely had a major negative effect on the MPG. Security: The little lock that came with the bag (which would stop no one determined to get your stuff) broke instantly when I tried to set a new code, so that was out of the picture. All a thief would need to do is drive up with a pickup truck, quickly cut the straps and shove the bag in his/her truck to get your stuff. It is not very secure. One of the motels we stayed at seemed to be in a not great area so I opted to take the bag off the car and keep it in the room with us. I felt safer with it at other, nicer hotels which had lighting and cameras in the lots. Overall quality: I am impressed with this bag considering it was $60. It did the trick. However the major thing this product did for me was make me decide to the bite the bullet and get a roof rack and a large hard shell cargo carrier so the air can at least travel underneath it, reducing drag. Hard shells also seem to be way more secure.

This product changed our lives on road trips - Toyota Yaris owners
Quite literally. We wish we had found this years ago, and we feel very dumb for not having thought to search for something like this before. This product has brought us so much comfort and relief on road trips. We have a Toyota Yaris, 2 people and a 90 pound dog who takes up the whole backseat. Doesn’t leave much room for luggage (you wouldn’t believe how efficient I became at packing the car). We were constantly crammed, no matter what, and it made road trips so unpleasant. We were worried about attaching this bag with no roof rack, but it is completely fine and works great. You do not need a roof rack to succeed with this bag. We do not recommend the anti slip mat, it seemed to make the bag slide more. We do recommend wiping the top of your car before installation, to remove dust etc. This helps with grip. This bag holds SO much, even on top of our tiny car. We put most of our luggage in there (except climate controlled or delicate stuff like coolers, backpacks with laptops, etc.) but we could put way more if we wanted to. This bag seems to fit 4 duffles (not the jumbo kind), plus a bunch of other stuff that you can cram between the duffles. We can now move our chairs all the way back, recline them, no more luggage in the way! A miracle for our backs and hips upon arrival! The bag is very sturdy, reliably water proof if sealed correctly (we have driven through numerous thunderstorms), and easy to attach. It takes a bit of effort to place the hooks under the weather stripping, and adjust the bag, but literally who cares this thing is a lifesaver. Make sure to ensure the weather stripping is sealed back properly so you don’t get dripped on in the car when it rains. We recommend placing two hooks in the front on each side, to hold the bag as it’s blown backward while driving, and one or two on each side in the back. No problems this way, it stays on, doesn’t sway at all. We found that as we drove the first few minutes on the highway, the weight adjusts to fall naturally, and the bag strapping may need to be readjusted to put more tension on one side. Not a big deal. Tie the straps up and tuck them if you can so they aren’t flapping and making a racket, or potentially loosening the bag. Use a lock to seal the zipper, not so much for security purposes, but to ensure the zipper stays shut. I think it would anyway, but it gives me peace of mind to know it won’t fly open on the highway. Tuck the lock under the Velcro zipper cover to hold it in place and not put unnecessary stress on the zipper (we have a heavy lock and do not want to misshape the zipper). Oh, and not to mention, a great price. Most roof rack mechanisms cost hundreds of dollars. It hurts our fuel economy slightly, we fill up slightly more (on a 13 hour drive we may fill one more time than usual, but use only a quarter of that tank). 10/5 stars. Bravo, and hallelujah. I cannot stop raving about this product.

Speed and rain tested. Great product!
This worked great. I was able to carry 3 medium sized suitcases, 4 large carry-on sized suitcases all on the top of the van I rented. This thing held strong even going up to 100mph but averaged 85mph on the highway for the most part. It down poured a few times, and nothing got wet. Definitely was covered with bugs in the end but was very easy to clean. We will use for future trips for sure. Great buy!

Best money spent!!
Fantastic product! My husband even said this one of the best purchases I have ever made. This product lives up to the expectation of waterproof and durable. We drove with it for 11 hours in the rain and everything was completely dry when we got home. Let me say it again: ELEVEN hours in rain and everything was completely dry! It's very durable and we didn't have any problems with it moving or slipping, etc. It was a game changer for us, as we have 4 people to travel and very little trunk space, so this was a perfect solution. One of the other best features is that once you're done using it, it can fold back up, so it doesn't take up as much space as a hard-top carrier would. Easy to store within your car or hotel room, etc. One last thing--we were able to put 4 carry-on sized pieces of luggage in this, as well as a couple of other small duffle bags and odds and ends. Again, quite the space saver! Would highly recommend if you need something like this and are wondering if it is really worth it. It is!

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY - ONE TIME USE PRODUCT - POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE
This Rooftop Cargo Carrier is AMAZING!! I drove from California to Ohio and not once did the straps need to be tightened. Driving thru some intense rain had me concerned on if my items would be safe from the water - everything was DRY! I bought the largest size and had a 28" and a 25" suitcase, two 28.7"L x 14.2"W x 14"H moving bags and still had room for 3 queen size comforters and there was STILL ROOM FOR MORE!! Anyone moving or road-tripping needs this! The best part is it folds up and fits into this carrying bag for future use - no need to find room for one of those hard-sided turtle shell things. ****UPDATE**** Proceeded to use the carrier for the second time. Same route from California to Ohio - only difference was that due to the extreme heat all driving was done at night with cooler temperatures. During the daylight hours the car was parked under a covered carport. This trip it held 4 of the collapsable moving bags which all fit from front to back with approx 2" extra space all the way around. While stopping in Oklahoma City, it was discovered that one of the side seams had split leaving a 14" opening. Fortunately the 4 bags were able to be put into the van and nothing was lost. I realize it's been just over 1 year from the initial purchase, however I would think that for what I paid ($98.99 + tax) that I would get more than just 1 use from it. I tried to contact the seller - which directed me to Amazon. When I explained what happened I was transferred to 4 different departments, in the end to be told that there was nothing they could do, that I should contact the seller. I explained that I had tried to however the link directed me to Amazon. The Amazon employee kept telling me they couldn't do anything that I had to contact the seller thru the link he provided. After asking them if they had even tried using the link the employee became rude and condescending. I was able to locate an address for the seller however - guess what - IT'S IN CHINESE! I wasn't asking for any money back, I just wanted a replacement. FINAL UPDATE - I've attached photos of the split seam - IT IS A QUALITY DEFECT !! All I was asking for was a replacement - and I'm told SORRY YOU'RE PAST THE WARRANTY TIME. IF YOU HAVE THIS ---- USE WITH CAUTION ---- YOU COULD POTENTIALLY BE AT FAULT FOR CAUSING AN ACCIDENT IF YOUR BELONGINGS FLY OUT OF THIS WHEN THE SEAM BREAKS!!

Good but could be better
Bought this for a cross country road trip that was 3000+ miles. First of all, the lock that comes with it came broken. Luckily, I had an extra lock that I was able to use instead. On the first day of the trip, one of the straps literally ripped clean off while we were driving, which made me nervous about the durability of the bag for the rest of the trip. Two days later another strap completely ripped off. We ended up buying a bungee cord and straps to secure it down, since the straps don’t go across the whole bag, and that didn’t seem very secure. There were no issues after that. It kept my items dry from some pretty heavy rain. Overall, I would say the quality is reflective of the price. Not sure what caused the straps to rip off, it may have been the heat or the wind speed while driving. If you’re going to use this item for a long haul road trip, extra reinforcements are definitely needed.
