ok?
I've never used this medium before but it seemed to be fairly hard to work with. It needs to be cut and cannot be ripped apart into sections. after placing the seed in the hole its not possible to close it over the seed unless you stuff scraps from another one into the hole. it also looks like my holes were on the wrong side or at least compared to the one in the picture and others I have seen people use online. Maybe it was just my fault for one reason or another but I didn't seem to have much luck starting my seeds in this medium. While many of them did sprout they tended to die before growing true leaves. I even tried using a hydroponics solution thinking it needed some added nutrients. Again this may just be something I did wrong but I have never had a problem with starting seeds with soil in the past.

Not 1.5โ plugs.
My only complaint is that the size of the individual plugs was mich smaller than the standard Groden starter plugs. They are WAY smaller than the holes on the 4 inch cubes many of us plug them into. The size of the individual plugs is not included in the description. In any case, these are NOT the 1.5 inch plugs many of us are used to. Other than that, itโs a great rockwool product suitable for seedlings or cuttings.

Awesome
Grodan stonewool is great - can't beat it as a medium for hydroponic use. It's also nice that they included gloves with the purchase as, if you've worked with this stuff before, it has properties similar to fiberglass where you don't want to get this stuff imbedded in your skin - it can hurt. This particular size also works great for 1x1 seed starter trays (128 cell 10x20) and was exactly what I was looking for. The size of stone wool you choose to use will directly depend on what your application is - it's really up to your preference.

Great For Growing Stuff
I used these fine cubes in my failed attempts at hydroponics last winter. Everything sprouted, which provides me with some cause for hope- the gloves do help if you don't want to be scratching everywhere from the glass wool. So I recommend these to anyone with even an iota of more skill at growing things than me.

Buy a larger size or grow tiny plants...
Have you ever tried to balance a marker on it's tip? That's what its like trying to stand these up in a seed tray. The cubes are not level and lean over too easily. The only way that I could add support was to put them individually into a clear plastic farm fresh egg carton (which worked well), however these are just entirely too small. I've used Grodan cubes in the past, however, they were much larger.During germination, I found that I had to add water more often than with other rockwool cubes. It is probably my fault for ordering these thinking they were larger, but I would expect the same quality. If you are leaning towards rockwool cubes, which under normal circumstances are WONDERFUL for hydroponics, get a larger size -- these are too small and not worth the cost. These are best suited for growing smaller plants... maybe brussels sprouts... or tiny succulents... maybe chives...

Good rockwool
Good rockwool cubes, they are small and difficult to make stand up. Other than the small size I have no issues and find them to be as effective for cloning and considerably cheaper.

But great price, he decided to use anyway and see ...
My husband bought to germinate seeds for our tower garden. Much smaller than he thought and smaller than other cubes we had. But great price, he decided to use anyway and see if would work as well as other cubes. No chance yet.

Smaller than expected
The rockwool is of decent quality, holds water for a few days before they have to be resoaked.I feel that the wool is a little tough to work with because the plugs are much smaller than most clone slots causing air and light pockets that can damage roots, not too hard to deal with though just fill the gaps with verm and you got the best root zone you could want
