Point Blank/Second Season

Formed by Bill Ham when Z.Z.Top were having a break,Point Blank produced two albums of blistering boogie;both of which are here on this 2 for 1 set.At the heart of their sound was the incendiery guitar playing of Rusty Burns and the late great Kim Davis;the latters aggresive guitar leads and savage tone complimented Burns astonishing triplets.Both records gave these two plenty of room to display their talents;higlights include "Lone Star Fool" and "Free Man" from their first album and "Uncle Ned" from their second.Both records have been well reproduced and represent a superb dose of southern boogie.

This is an unfortunately often overlooked Southern Rock band which played great music in this genre and this double album on one CD is definitely worth checking out and is good value too.This is really a must have for fans of Southern Rock. You will wonder how on earth you missed them before.Track time just over 72 ¼ mins.

POINT BLANK - A GREAT ROCKING BAND WITH TWO EXCELLENT ALBUMS FOR THE PRICE OF ONE!Some of these tracks are some of my all time favourites - Waiting for a change, Distance, In this world, Stars and Scars, Rock and Roll Hdeaway , Moving and Wandering to name but a few gems.Do youselves afavour and check these guys out if you like Skynyrd, Outlaws Stillwater etc.

A welcome reissue of Point Blanks first two albums. If you are a fan of Southern styled Rawk you really do need to hear these albums. From Texas and discovered by Bill Ham,the first album here from 1976 is a serious slab of heavy duty twin guitared rock reminiscent of early ZZ Top but with anger management issues. A year later Second Season finds them a little less angry and stretching out a bit more.Later albums would get more commercial but these first two are essential listening for anybody who might have even a passing interest in this kind of music and at a bargain price.

Dois excelentes álbuns, para mim os melhores desta banda subestimada de Southern Rock. Para quem curti o estilo, vale muito a pena conhecer.

...I like this band more than any other 'Southern Rock' group, including Allman Brothers. They play harder and are closer to hard British rock of 70es. Every track on this double cd is great, no fillers !
