Cheap and flimsy build quality, quite small inside.
My last two microwaves have been Panasonic Combi Microwaves, and the last one lasted 11 years. The current equivalent is the 4-in-1, but that is so big that I thought I'd simplify with the microwave grill. On paper, it seemed perfect, but in reality, it has a number of issues for me. - Flimsy build quality. This microwave just feels so light and flimsy, and the most annoying feature is that when you press the button to open the door, the microwave just slides back across the surface. I found that to do anything reliably, I need one hand to hold the microwave steady whilst using the other hand to press the controls. The accessories are also thin and cheap - especially the grill rack. - Volume/Space. Whilst the outer dimensions of this model are a little smaller than my previous microwave, which was rated at 27 litres, this one is supposedly 29 Litres, but the inside is minute. The turnable is a good 2-3cm smaller in diameter, and the whole thing felt cramped. I put a large dinner plate on the turntable, and it caused the turntable to have difficulty revolving as it was too big. The ring that the turntable sits on is also fixed rather than removable, which makes it harder to clean. All the reviews that say this is like the tardis and massive inside must be delusional, or have never used a proper-sized microwave. - Controls. The various settings can be found by either multiple presses of a button OR one press and then turning the knob, followed by 'set'. I found this irritating as I forgot to press the set after my multiple presses, so when I turned the top to set the time, it just changed the setting. The 4-in-1 is much better in this respect. I also didn't like that the 'programs' just showed the number rather than the description, and then you need to cross-reference the number to the program using the printed chart stuck on the inside, for which the door needs to be opened. So, for example, 'Baked Potato' just shows as 11. - Finish. Not limited to this model, but seemingly a problem with all Panasonic models. The shiny finish just collects fingerprints. Too much cleaning just ends up wiping off the lettering. Both my previous two microwaves ended up with no discernible labels, as they'd all worn off by normal light cleaning. - You don't get much of a printed manual and the download is actually quite hard to find as it's listed under the 'archived' models on the Panasonic site. There are positives, though. The baked potato program did a good job despite using a grill rather than the convection oven, but the space was cramped. The grill worked very well - better than the more expensive 4-in1. I also like the fact that the power levels show the actual power rather than terms like 'high', 'medium', 'low', etc. They're also organised sensibly with high to low rather than the normal high, medium high, defrost, medium, which just feels all over the place. It did a good job of the actual cooking, though, once you got it going. For £200 at the time of writing, it's just overpriced for the quality of the oven. Ultimately, I returned it for the more expensive 4-in-1, which costs another £150 at the time of writing, but the build quality is like night and day. The 4-in-1 includes a combination oven and Air Fryer, which I don't really need, and it's MASSIVE and very heavy, but it's just a much better unit, and at least it stays where you put it when you press the buttons.

Hazardous to use
We had an old Panasonic microwave for several decades that we kept because it excelled in making baked potatoes. We had high expectations of this new model but now, having tried two of them, they both suffer from the same fault. Although other functions seem to work okay, the 'automatic' baked potato program causes alarming sparks & smoking. Not safe to have in the home!

Good but some annoying aspects
The microwave came with a quick start guide and a QR code to download the manual to help you use the 14 auto programmes. However, when you go onto the site, the manual is not listed for this model number. After trying several different options, we eventually rang customer services and they emailed a complete manual! What a faff! The writing under each of the buttons is small and difficult to read on the brushed steel surface. The brushed steel surface shows up every mark and finger print so you have to be careful when cleaning the area not to damage the signage under each button Now to the good points! The inside is like a TARDIS! It looks small but is very roomy and you can fit a large dinner plate in easily. It doesn't seem to get condensation inside when heating things up.Due to the inverter,it seems to heat things up evenly and although I've not used all of the auto programmes yet, there ones I have done are very useful and work. It's quiet and compact too. Would I buy again? Mmmm, I think I prefer my old sharp one but this one is growing on me the more I use it. Perhaps, it's because it's still new to me that I'm hesitating. Ask me in another month, and I may have changed my opinion. 02/09/25 After using it for a while, I must say that I'm delighted with it . Used several of the functions with a good success rate. yes, I now would buy it again!
