Book is in excellent condition, and is an absolute staple for educational research. Glad to support the seller "Friends of Thousand Oaks Library."

Usually when I order books,it takes me a whole to write a review. Let me first begin by saying that I needed this book in time to prepare for class and even though the delivery date was acceptable, the seller in response to an email request, rushed the order in time to complete an assignment. I've only read 1 chapter and so far I've found it to be a well written book that guides the reader step-by-step in educational research design.

I bought this for a class. I didn't have to because there was a free online version but I hate trying to read online. I got the paperback version. Its great. Not to expensive and I can mark it up to my hearts content. I will be careful highlighting. Marker may go through. Pages are like a regular paperback book.

I have rented several books from Amazon and have never been let down. Textbooks have shown up on time and have never had a problem on returns. It may be odd to give a textbook rental 5 stars, as they really just are as expected, but this one honestly has all important subject matter highlighted and has made my course work easier.

I work in an academic field at the crossroads of biomedical research and research into higher education practices. (I pursue research about research.) I have familiarized myself with biomedical research practices, but I also wanted to familiarize myself with educational research practices. Biomedical research is heavy on quantitative analysis, but educational research seems to involve qualitative methods much more. I needed deeper introduction to the latter. Creswell’s 650-page opus seemed to fit the bill, and I was not left disappointed.As expected, this work is especially heavy on qualitative methods. Most – if not all – of its examples come from educational settings. It emphasizes applicability to the practice of teaching, especially in the K-12 arena. The various ways to pursue qualitative research are especially appreciated here – whether explanatory, exploratory, action-oriented, experimental, or correlational.This book is suitable for graduate-level researchers in the field of education (especially at the K-12 level). It explains from square-one how to identify and pursue a research question; then it covers how to design, implement a study, and analyze the results to address that given research question. Creswell is especially strong when addressing mixed-methods research designs (both qualitative and quantitative) and action research designs.The text is approachable and easy to read, even for non-native English speakers. Examples are drawn from the field of education and serve to teach the reader more about good instructional practice. Following each chapter sits an example paper to elucidate the principles taught in the proceeding chapter. The content is thorough in both its depth and its breadth. Each chapter also addresses ethical issues (each with its own case study) and contains a guide about how to interpret findings from this style of research.Especially coming from the biomedical research world, this work seems short on quantitative methods and statistical applications. It engages statistical software use only at a very high level, and I do not recall any mathematical formulae ever being present. That perhaps is its prevailing weakness, but the mainstream of educational research tends to avoid these topics, too. At four editions currently, this work has stood the test of time and has had a global impact. My paperback edition from Pearson India was affordable while not skimping on content. Overall, I have been pleased with my time spent reading this book.

This book is really hard to find and so needed by folks like me who sometimes need the paper version to make it work. This text can quickly and the seller was top of the class in sellers. Quick, good price, good condition, and very pleasant to deal with.

Ordered this for my doctoral research and it really helped to explain things to get me started on my dissertation.

I am not writing this review of the text itself but the format and the way I was able to gain access to this content. I purchased this ebook thinking that I would be able to pull it up on my web browser on my computer. I tried several different browser types including google, safari, and firefox and none of them worked and only gave me the I'm sorry puppy. I am only able to pull this up through the app on my phone. This would not be much of an issue if it was just a book I was reading for fun but with this being a textbook that I need to use for class it makes it much more difficult to use. I am very disappointment in this and in the lack of tech support that Amazon has for these issues. I tried to find a way to interface with someone to trouble shoot the issue and there was no such help that I could find.
