First product review I’ve done in all my Amazon shopping, before this chain I would go through 2 to 3 chains a year. I’ve now had this one over a year and it’s still looks and is as sturdy as first day I put it on. It’s always had a heavy little compass on it and as blue collar worker has seen sun sand and plenty of sea water, would recommend!

I originally bought this necklace intending to use it to hold a ring I wanted to wear as a pendant, and I'm pleased to say that it not only works well for that, but it also looks fashionable all on its own. Something I wasn't clear about when I bought it but am glad to find out is that each one of the links is actually a separate jump ring, as opposed to a single link just shaped like multiple rings. In other words, each necklace is actually the equivalent of several 'normal' chain necklaces, but because of how the links are connected in a regular pattern, they're basically 'braided' together, giving it the appearance visible in the photos while remaining just as flexible. The quality of the necklace as a whole is well above average. The steel is your average stainless steel, giving it strength and rust-resistance while still being lightweight, the ends of the chain are capped with metal, and the clasping mechanism is pretty sturdy. If you were to pull at the necklace with the intent of breaking it, the part that would break first is the small metal ring that attaches to the clasp, which is good, since that part is easily and cheaply replaced. The small black canvas bag that comes with each necklace isn't something I personally have a need for, but it's well-made enough and works well as a storage bag for it while it isn't being worn. Overall, I'm very pleased with this , and I plan to wear it daily. If any issues pop up with it, I'll update my ad and rating, but unless that happens, this is my everyday neck-wear of choice.
