As the price of the beam pro comes down, it becomes well worth the investment (£160 with voucher). Although it is basically an Android phone with no calling ability, it does have a 3D camera and a 2nd USB port. It allows the Xreal glasses to use more features such as "anchoring" the display to a point in space so you can turn your head to look at something else and then look back to the screen. This feature is very useful. The screen can also follow your head movement so that it is always in front of you - good if you are moving from room to room but still want to glance at the screen. I use the beam pro/Xreal Air 2 to remotely connect to my PC so I can work from anywhere. I use an small bluetooth keyboard with track pad and its very good for remote working. The battery will last for hours (3 or 4?) when powering the glasses or all day otherwise, but because it has a charging port I tend to run it from a power bank. You can install and use normal Android apps. The screen is good quality and useful on its own, but, it can do nothing more than your phone without the glasses so don't buy it unless you have the Xreal AR glasses. Previously I used a Samsung phone with Dex to use the glasses with, which was good, but the Beam Pro adds an extra dimension to the experience of working remotely, so I use this Beam Pro rather than my Samsung phone. This technology is still in its infancy, but is just becoming what has been promised for years - This Beam Pro and the Xreal Air 2 glasses (both recently reduced in price a lot) is an excellent entry point to AR glasses. The next set of phones that use Android 16 and allow external monitors to be plugged into the USB C port, in theory should make the Beam Pro redundant (probably), but this will probably be the cheaper option for a little while. A quality product, only let down by the lack of instructions (their intro video says "click on the 4 circles"....but there weren't 4 circles. Eventually 1 circle did appear, then one by one the other 3, but I had given up and restarted the intro app several times before I realised what they meant). The other downside is that the external mouse in anchor mode sometimes (when you reset the display position) disappears and I have only just realised that it appears behind you so you have to move it 180 degrees before you can see it (stroking the mouse pad many times). Xreal have impressed me both with the glasses, and now with the Beam Pro - however the £160 reduced price tag has made a big difference. If I paid the original £240 I may not have been impressed. If it comes down to closer to £100 then its a no brainer to buy the Beam Pro if you have Xreal glasses.

The beam pro is a basic android device with the glasses software app. It also enables app download from playstore. The camera system is a spatial camera but can also be used as a normal camera. There are not many glasses specific apps yet, I can see myself using my phone more than this rather than carry 2 around with me.

*Update*: after 2 days the device died :( Stopped charging and (obviously) now won't turn on. Which is a pity, I was starting to make some headway using Sunshine+Moonlight to stream to it with a bit more quality *Original*: Very disappointing device. Have tried Steam Link and Parsec so far and both have quality/latency problems. And forget about running discord at the same time - it cut the already poor framerate in half due to performance issues with the device. I'd be returning it but sadly I no longer have the box. On top of that, this is really the wrong form factor for such a thing. It should be smaller and squatter, and usable single-handed. Instead it's so long it is uncomfortable to use because the leverage makes it unpleasantly heavy as a remote. They really should make something in the shape of a closed Motorola Razr. Will also add the thing feels fairly cheap and plasticky, and the screen is a little washed out.

Great companion device very affordable considering. I'll be honest I wasn't sure about buyer this I felt like the original beam was a complete crash and burn basically only able to play netflix and mirror other devices. However going into this I was a little mad about buying something new.... When I got it I kinda felt like for the price point this was an apology of sorts. Totally worth it basically an android device geared to AR with no cellular and it runs well great colour calibration on the screen. Overall very happy. The included expandable storage on all teirs which is not really heard of these days. Well done xreal massive step in the right direction!

Bijna goed, geen Nederlands zoals gewoonlijk. Apps kunnen wel ingesteld worden in Nl.

Amateur de nouvelle expérience, j'ai commandé les lunettes Xreal Air suite à un article sur sur Lenovo qui présentait ses lunettes connectés pour sa console portable. Après des recherches je tombe sur cette marque chinoise Xreal qui propose le même produit moins cher et meilleur. Comme mon smartphone n'est pas compatible, je commande le Beam Pro. Et bien c'est tout simplement génial. C'est du vrai Android 14 avec maj et toutes les applis fonctionnent (Netflix, prime, oqee de Free, etc). C'est rapide, fluide, l'écran est très lumineux. Les lunettes se connectent en un clic et la qualité d'image est blufflante mieux que sur le Quest 3. Il n y a aucune pixelisation. Il y a un double port usb C pour recharger l'appareil avec un powerbank car les lunettes pompent évidemment de la batterie. Le Beam sert aussi à se diriger dans les lunettes et la prise en main est vraiment intuitif (tuto au démarrage). Et cerise sur le gâteau, ça fait des vidéos et des photos 3D de très bonne qualité. Maintenant, je vais voir à l'usage notamment lorsque je prends le train pour aller au boulot. Avec ça fini le pc oula tablette pour regarder mes vidéos. Pour l'instant je ne regrette pas du tout mon achat.

Es fühlt sich in der Hand etwas billiger an aber was unter der Haube steckt, hat mich echt überzeugt 👍🏻. TOP Gerät. Läuft super schnell und sehr flüssig. Hat eine sehr gute und stabile Hardware verbaut 👍🏻👍🏻 3D Videos mit Verbindung einer AR- Brille 😳😳 unglaublich gut. Ich bin voll begeistert. Allerdings muss ich auch sagen, die Qualität bei normalen Fotos ist nicht so ganz besonders gut wie bei gewöhnlichen Smartphones. Die Kamera scheint da etwas Licht sensible zu sein. Aber sei ihm verziehen. Ich bin mehr als zufrieden und kann dieses Gerät mit ruhigem gewissen weiter empfehlen 👍🏻👍🏻 einfach TOP ✌🏻

Ottimo dispositivo , ma lo consiglio solo a chi come me non aveva smartphone compatibili o per chi cerca una esperienza virtuale diversa dal solito… in pratica è un telefono che fa funzionare gli occhiali xreal ma che non si può usare per telefonare… si possono scaricare tutte le app dal play store..funziona anche you tube Sportifay ecc … ottimo

Me gustó este móvil porque lo uso como centro de mando para todo lo que hago con las gafas XREAL: ver pelis, jugar en la nube y tener una pantalla gigante en cualquier sitio. Los 6 GB de RAM y los 128 GB me dan de sobra para instalar apps y llevar series descargadas sin ir borrando cosas todo el rato. Además, las cámaras 3D las uso para grabar momentos con amigos y luego verlos en las gafas como si estuviera otra vez allí, queda muy resultón.
