I researched the heck out of stainless steel water fountains for cats and decided on this model based on company’s reputation, size of fountain, ease of cleaning and operating, and all reviews I could find. I have a friend with the same fountain and her 4 cats love it.So…the fountain arrived without filters + sponges. Because I work long hours and can’t deal with Amazon’s CS, I got both from a friend & ordered more today. Setting up the fountain was easy, thanks to clear directions. Cleaning the unit is easier, and soon i hope to scrub the pump, impeller, etc.The main reason for 3 stars: This fountain is so noisy as the water hits metal that I can’t sleep. More important, our cat won’t go near it. She backs away like it’s a skunk. She spends chunks of her day hanging out in the bathtub or shower again, and, after 10 days, I’m unsure this animal ever will use this fountain. This is a cat who loves to touch and play with water. The deadline to keep or return is in 2 weeks, but i’m hoping for a miracle.EDIT: I revised the number of stars to reflect the quick & sincere response by the manufacturer, who offered a few solutions. My cat simply prefers the tub & shower right now. I highly recommend this company bc it stands behind its product, & I know that’s where we’ll turn when we try a water fountain again.

It's fine so far. The pump itself is VERY quiet, but the water trickling is loud and distracting, especially at night. My cats haven't actually used it yet, so I can't attest to how much they like it, but it's only been set up for a couple of days now & I'm hoping they use it once they get more used to it. Assembly was easy enough and all the parts were there, though the little impeller would NOT come out no matter what I did, & the instructions explicitly said to clean that separately, so I rinsed it really well and I'm hoping that was enough to get the job done.Overall it's just fine so far. I might return it if my cats don't show interest in a couple days, if only because the water trickling is the worst part about it.EDIT:I am very impressed by the promptness and quality of the customer service for this product. The team reached out within the span of a couple days and offered me a full refund without returning the fountain. I sat on the offer for a minute because I wanted to give the product an honest go, and I'm very glad I did.The water noise did take some getting used to, but I hardly notice it now that I've grown used to it. The pump is still quiet, and I only notice it when the water level gets to the minimum marker—which is honestly helpful because it reminds me to add more and change the filter.Not that the pump noise happens often, because it doesn't; the water level indicator is great. I really didn't think it would make much of a difference to me to be able to visibly note the water level, but it's a real game changer and I SUPER appreciate the ability to take a glance and know whether or not I have to refill it.My cats took about a week to warm up to it, but they LOVE it now and use it often (I have 5, so the fact that they all like it is pretty impressive). They share it well — the design is nice, it doesn't take up much counter space and allows two of them to use it comfortably at once (and would probably have room for two more if the cats actually liked each other enough to sit beside one another).So far I've been impressed with how clean the stainless steel has remained and how well the filter works.Overall, I'm really impressed with the product itself and the quality of the customer service. I didn't end up taking the refund because I really am very pleased with it; I think it's the nicest fountain I've had to date (& with five cats, you tend to go through a few fountains). Definitely recommend.

Our three dogs was not sure what it was at first but could not find where the existing water bowls went?? Had to remove the flower from the middle because the flower allowed little “waterfalls” which was not a favorite of theirs.. Removed it & now they are drinking out of the bowl.. We have a 17 yr old pup & it really didn’t matter as soon as she knew there was water (flower or no flower). The other 2 pups are 7 & 9 and doing great after a couple days BUT can not get use to the little noise coming from the middle where the water is being recycled.. Wish I woukd have purchased one sooner!!!
