Ingres Hardcover – 1 Oct. 1995

This is the best illustrated, most comprehensive book on ingres i have found. Filled with full page illustrations of his preparatory drawings and portraits, as well as his more famous paintings, this gives a fascinating insight into this french painter. Recomended!

This is a gorgeous book by one of the truly great French Masters. Everything is there - his glorious painting of the emperor - Napoleon on his throne, all the great portraits, the religious works, his exotic harem scenes and the history paintings. Plenty of his great pencil drawings as well.

what a draftsman, Ingres was....I make a point of seeking out his work in every museum I visit and this book is just spectacular
