Fits Great In My 1998 Weber Platinum Series II Grill
FITThis "Weber" branded temperature probe (Weber 62538 9815 Thermometer Genesis Silver A-C, Gold B-C, 1000-5500 Series Grills) fit snugly in the original holder on the right side of the grill hood. I had originally purchased a generic temperature probe here at Amazon for $9 less, but it did not fit snugly at all and was ridiculously loose to the point of being unusable (i.e. it could easily fall out when closing the grill hood). I returned the generic probe and purchased the "Weber" branded temperature probe which fit nearly as snugly as the 24 year old, OEM temperature probe. The "Weber" branded probe is definitely worth the extra $9.NOTE: The "Weber" branded probe does not come with any clips or fasteners ... and this is correct and by design. The grill hood has a holder in which the probe should fit snugly, which it does, and the probe is easily removable so it can be used to check the inner temperature of the food items being cooked on the grill.ACCURACYI tested the "Weber" branded probe, multiple times, in a pot of boiling water. Each time the probe reached the test mark (212 degrees) on the probe and stabilized there.I placed the probe in the grill and turned on only the back burner at its lowest setting (there are three burners on my grill) and closed the lid. The probe reached about 255 degrees and stabilized there. Perfect. Then, I set three burners on low and closed the lid. The probe reached about 400 degrees and stabilized there. Pretty much the same as the OEM probe before the OEM probe broke. Finally, I cranked up all three burners on high and closed the lid. The probe reached about 550 degrees and stabilized there. Again, pretty much the same as the OEM probe before the OEM probe broke.LONGEVITYI cannot speak to how long this "Weber" branded probe will last because I've only had it for one day. As for the lens fogging up, recall that I tested the probe over a pot of steaming, boiling water with no issues. The true test of time will be in the ensuing years to come. I will try to remember to come back to this review and update it in a year or two ... or at any point that this probe fails to meet my expectations.

It fits perfectly
Don’t fall for the cheaper prices of the knockoff Webber “fit”. They are too loose and do not stay in place like the original. My 23 year old grill appreciates it and so do I.
