My Dark Prince: An Enemies-to-Lovers Romance (3)

Thanks to Dreamscape, I could listen to this audiobook, which was truly an experience. Christian Fox & Andi Arndt did an amazing job getting all the feelings in a row. It was so balanced that I did enjoy it a lot more than I would have while reading myself. The story is quite gripping and had me curious about the past and the present. Unfortunately, I did read a few reviews before diving in, and that made me question the main character and I was glad that I didn’t read the first few books because I got to see how much biased those reviews were, and in my opinion, Oliver is a sweetheart, no questions asked. He is perfect, and I know that in real life also we are dealt the cards we have no say over. So he’s just misunderstood, sweet guy. Conversations with Briar or of Briar are always fun to see, and how they both met again for the start of their second chance is so different and entertaining that I had a great laugh. Their moments felt precious. The narrator did get all those feelings on point and gave me butterflies. Now I am very much determined to meet Romeo and Zach in their own books, which, btw I own right now. LJ Shen and Parker S Huntington really got all their ducks in a row and let the readers have a great time. They are talented, and that shows in their beautiful stories. Hats off. I love all the books, and I’m excited to see if Seb is getting his own book. He deserves his happy ending, too, after all the things he suffered. Happy reading.

4.25/5 stars I soooo loved this one. This series is chefs kiss. So unbelievably funny I stayed laughing the entire time. I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE these characters (apart from one of them)!! Ollie had always been my favorite character since book 1 so I’ve been waiting impatiently to read his story. The love interest was not at all expected it would be so that was a refreshing little surprise. The plot was also interesting and I stayed hooked. However, I will say there seemed to be a very obvious plot hole/inconsistency that made me stop and re-read like four different times. So it kind of took me out of the moment. Even with that, I still loved this book and definitely recommend if you’ve already started this series! This story alone would have been a five star read. But because it followed two of my favorite books of 2025 thus far, I really had expected a lot more FUN. There was a lot of tragedy and sadness and angst. Do we expect this with dark romance? Yes. But when you read books 1 & 2 of this series, the most hilarious addition is Ollie, who is the MMC here, so you really expect this book to be a total freaking blast. Instead, it rips your heart into many, many pieces without giving you anything for the pain until end. Still worth it though.

I was lucky to get an arc copy of this gem & ohh boy was I right how precious this book really is. I've been waiting for Ollie's story since the 1st book in the series because I knew there was soo much more behind the facade he let everyone believe. I was right. Ollie just loves deeply for his family & his girl. that's his downfall. Briar has never been truly loved till Ollie. She's been let down by everyone in her life. so when the inevitable happens she decides not to love deeply anymore.. at all. that is till Ollie comes barging back into the picture. He always knew how strong his Briar is. This is a very sweet childhood to lovers, Sleeping Beauty retelling story & I couldnt get enough of it. Read it 3 times now. & I'm obsessed with Ollie & Briar they're perfect for each other. we get glimpses from the other characters from the previous books & let me tell you Dallas is even better in this one. Her strong hilarious banter comes thru strong in this book. This book is a Top read of 2025 for me. Thanks to my favorite authors L.J. Shen & Parker S Huntington for making us girls believe that there's a prince out there for every single one of us.
