BLACKSTONE 5003 28” Griddle Hard Cover, Powder Coated Steel, Black

decided to move my blackstone outside on my back deck instead of in my garage and wanted a little more protection since I heard the covers are not waterproof. This protects the surface but is not tight enough that it is a hassle.

I’ve had this for quite a while now and just doing a review. I had bought this because when I bought my Blackstone, it did not come with a top. I used to get water onthe top of the Blackstone griddle and I purchased this and also the orange rubber cover and it works beautifully. Definitely keeps out any water.

Love this cover. I ordered one for both of my Blackstones so I could get rid of the hinged covers they come with. No more grease buildup on the inside of the old cover. they are durable and heavy enough you dont have to worry about them blowing off in high wind areas. Just pick it up and move it out of the way when cooking. Great item.

I ordered a Blackstone 28" grill and it was delivered today. The wife and I put it together and as soon as we were done, UPS brought this Blackstone Hard Cover. Perfect! I'm very happy I ordered this for the protection. It fit my grill like a glove. It was even on all four sides with no wabble. Being it's built exactly to the correct dimensions, you have to be sure your putting it on straight down. Don't force it, just be sure it's going on straight down. It has two handles that are held on tightly with four screws for easy removal or putting it on. There are two latches on the underside to connect it to the back of the grill when in use. If you have the grease pan in the back, it hangs at an angle which I don't like, but it's the design of the grill, not the lid. If your pan is on the side, it will hang straight down. I personally would rather keep it away from the grill so oil doesn't splatter on it, one less thing to clean. The lid is a good thick metal, and is well made. It's packed perfectly in the box as so it will not be damaged in service. Having the lid keeps the cover cleaner as it won't be laying on top of the seasoned griddle. This is a must have if you buy the 28" grill.

Pro's: Easy to install Sturdy, not thin Protects the cook top Protects from water and dampness Cons: Nothing at this time. In the end, I did not attach the lid to the unit. I just set it on the side when the grill is in use. This item helps to retain the cleanliness of the cooktop. This allows for less maintenance as at times the grill covers allow moisture in and such, so this is double protection so you don't have to re-season the grill top as much. Great unit.
