Interesting with some great insights
There's some really cool footage in this and it gives you a feel for how technology changed everything over the last century. 100 years of the RAF is actually a huge subject, one I thought I knew a bit about, so while it covered some things I knew I still enjoyed it AND still gained more insights which could only have been made from using forces news material. Just right to get your geek on and contribute a little something to the benevolent fund.

Greatly appreciated by an ex-serviceman for Father’s Day.

It reminds me of involvement with the MOD.
Having been involved with the RAF, it had good appeal.

Great first hand footage
Our Grandson loves aeroplanes especially war planes - spitfire and hurricanes and found this really interesting.

Not as good as expected
Not wishing to moan or anything, but I was looking forward to this dvd and was left feeling quite flat about it. Plenty of content, but somehow it just didn't flow for me...the continuity seemed a bit odd at times and the imagery didn't always match the commentary..notably when some murky footage of Defiants appeared!Clearly editing is always somewhat subjective, but significant chunks of RAF history were ignored (ie policing role between the wars) and other bits seemed to go on for ever, ie the downed Tornado crews experiences and helicopter medivac aspects in Afghanistan. For me it felt very bitty and not particularly well researched....and why no Hawker Hunter?? Surely a significant gap. It's a bit worrying when you even dislike the box art! Weird colours and dodgy looking propeller blades on the Spitfire..why??So...adequate as a general intro I suppose, but I think the RAF deserve far more than this. I was a bit shocked to find myself thinking 'Well at least it was only £2.75'....that's about the level of inspiration for me, anyway, though of course you can't really go wrong with the Red Arrows as a finale, can you!
