Some light coil whine
Works great as a replacement, had slight coil whine, but it's not as loud as the original GaN charger I was replacing.

More than enough for Dell laptops with higher power requirements, charger is detected properly.
With Dell workstation replacements and many gaming laptops, they require a 180w or larger power supply. If you connect a smaller charger, or one that's defective, you'll get a warning that the power supply isn't providing enough power and the laptop will run at a slower speed. There is a center pin so the laptop can detect how much power can be provided by the charger. If there's any issue with that center pin circuit, you'll get a power error, even if a charger actually can provide enough power.I usually don't care about appearance of a charger, as long as it works! But this charger looked great as well, build quality is very good. And it actually feels a bit lighter than the original charger. But it had everything needed and functioning to be detected properly with my Dell Precision laptops with no problems at all. I have several Precision laptops that need 180w of power or more, and with this charger, it was detected by my Precision laptops as being able to supply full power on every one!No adapter warnings about not enough power available. Certainly just as good or better than the original Dell charger. Highly recommend this charger if you have a Dell laptop that requires the extra power!

Not Slim
Not slim. Almost the same size as Dell non-slim charger. The curved edges create an illusion that it is smaller. The cord is also shorter that Dell charging cord.Descriptive tag came half off with removal of protective plastic.

Works great
Used this charger for my docking station to set up my home work desk. The cords are a little shorter than the charger that came with the dock, but that worked in my favor so I did not have to hide a bunch of excess cables. The output is strong enough to power up the dock and have enough power to charge my power hungry laptop as well. My dock is the one with two USB-C cables for the higher end laptops and this charger has no issue handling the task. My 280 Watt OEM charger gets really hot and makes my laptop get really hot as well, this charger stays cool and my laptop doesn't overheat like it does with the OEM charger. I have not seen any issues with my laptop slowing down or reducing processing speed due to lower power. I checked my performance monitors and everything is running full speed even though this charger is 40 Watts lower than the OEM. For price, efficiency, funtion, and the lower operating temperatures I am saying this is a quality charger and great value.

Works as advertised
Came is a box with the charger and AC cable. The AC cable seems thick and appropriate for the charger. Charger cable is thick with a cable organizer connected to the big brick but I am using this with a 17 R5 so it is so old and massive that this is the smaller and portable version of it and they both deliver 240W. This one also has a lit up charger connector like my old one to signify if it is plugged in or not. It works without any messages from the laptop and tried it too with other alienwares without any issues.

Any Alienware charging cable is large, and heavy
This charging cable is working currently on my Alienware M17x. The original cable seems to have become separated by the barrel connector that goes into the laptop. The part with the blue light. This charging cable has not done that yet, even when plugged in all the time. Most Alienware laptops will need to be plugged into the wall if you are using the laptop to play games, or any other type of heavy application usage. But this charger does seem to be about the same size, and weight as the original charger. Which is a good thing for me, as I was skeptical that the voltage would be different. The voltage and amperage is the same as the original Dell charger.Make sure to double check that your original charger matches the replacement before getting rid of the original charger. Overall it is a good price for a working Dell charger. If your battery still does not charge, your internal battery most likely needs to be replaced. They wear out after 4-5 years. This charger will allow you to still use the laptop if the battery is dying, or not working at all though. Just make sure to shut down your laptop before unplugging.

works just like the original
I foolishly waited until my charger completely died before replacing it - not really recommended. The black heavy tubing around the one that came with my notebook 2.5 years ago was so worn I could see the exposed wires in it.I ordered this one and crossed my fingers that it would come in as fast as it said it would. Fortunately, that was the case - I had it in in about 36 hours after I ordered it so I wasn't down for long. This one not only looks identical to what I had before but most importantly it powers up my notebook just fine. It's not too heavy either so I don't feel like I'm dealing with a brick.
