Hawaiian mini break offers light relief
Overlooking the fact that Emma Stones's part should have been played by someone with Hawaiian lineage, this is a great little movie. It's how classic romantic comedies used to be made (in the 80s Tom Hanks would have nabbed Bradley Coopers part) well acted, nice little plot, subtle interplay between the two male characters, stunningly beautiful scenery, and, refreshing nowadays, an absence of gore, violence and the obligatory psychopath. In an era when Hollywood churns out movies half shot in the dark weekly and directors think all we want to do is play guess who the nutter is, this movie provides, literally, some light relief.. a sun soaked uplifting mini break to Hawaii.

THIS is one of my favourite movies as it is a factual documentary
THIS is one of my favourite movies as it is a factual documentary. I used to live on the island of Hawaii for 25 years...and this is actually where the drama took place...although it is postulated and disguised as having been filmed at Hickham air base, Oahu.ALOHA guys!

Forgettable
I bought this movie because I love Hawaii and the Hawaiian people. I was looking forward to see some familiar scenery and to feel the aloha from the title. I didn't get any of it. I was bored, the characters were so stereotyped and not believable. I don't like romantic comedies to start with but I was hoping the good cast would make up for it. It didn't. What a shame.
