We tried so hard to use this product, we broke our plate and went to put it together. The problem is is that we didn’t know that A and B were supposed to be mixed together and we only mixed together a with all of the sprinkles and it didn’t work. It was just a little harder and a little messier than we thought.

We have a broken lampshade that my grandmother, a renowned China painter, painted over 50 years ago. It is a large shade but as you can see by the size of the 2 part epoxy here (which is the strongest glue to hold something together), there is easily enough of it for this project, and probably more projects.The fine grain of the gold is excellent, easy to mix into the epoxy resin and makes it look like real gold. I am impressed that 2 containers of the gold are included.I would only suggest to people that they mix just a bit of the epoxy resin at a time because this is 5 minute drying epoxy. That’s quick drying! And measure how much (or eyeball it) gold you put in an amount of epoxy because if there is a big difference in how much gold you put in the mixture, it is noticeable I know from experience. I work a lot with 2 part epoxy.I really like this Kintsugi kit because it just has what you need to fix a broken heirloom at a fair price. I don’t need items to fix that Kintsugi kits often include and then they charge more for the kits. I have broken treasures to fix already. Hope this information helps you decide if this is the kit for you.

Very strong smell. And not for beginners. But does the job

I used this to repair a few broken onyx carvings and a couple of broken crystals and it worked well. The epoxy cures very fast and I needed to mix up several small batches as I worked. This plus some epoxy clay for replacing a missing ear and a gilding kit made for some really nice results on one of the carvings that needed more than just the kintsugi to put it back together.

It was a fun experience to try my hand at creating a decorative ceramic piece with this repair kit. I went with the gold option because I wanted the cracks to stand out as part of the design. For the project, I intentionally broke one of my old plates into large pieces by gently tapping it under water. I used the gold glue from this kit to reassemble it. The instructions were simple to follow, and the included tools made the process easier. I used the provided clamps to hold the shape while the glue dried, and the cracks filled in nicely with a clean gold finish. After it dried, I used the included sandpaper to smooth out any excess glue, which left the edges polished and added to the overall look. The finished piece has this intentional broken design that looks unique as a decoration at home.
