Convenient
Purchased the Accu-Chek FastClix Glucose Monitor Kit first and then got this one to have two (one for home, one for work). I really like the test strip dispenser and FastClix lancer that Accu-Check has. They both save time and make checking your levels so much more convenient. I hated fishing out the test strips out of my tester brand and having to load the lancer each time. The main differences between the Guide Me and the Guide are the color display on the Guide (nice but not a big deal), the light at the test strip (didn't think it would matter, but surprisingly I use it a lot), easier to select circumstance for the testing (before meal, after meal, fasting, etc). Does seem to upload to your phone app until you power down. Both testers are tied to my phone app and update the app whenever I test. I am sure the accuracy is the same as the Guide Me. I suspect no home tester is ever really accurate. Even the control solutions have a 30 mg/Dl range for Level 1. I did check several test over several days with both the Guide Me and the Guide and they were within a point or two of each other. Amount of blood required for the test is small. I have not used the Accu-Chek Softclix Lancing Device that came with it yet. But just because I really like the convenience of the FastClix. I purchased an extra for my work one.

Testing strips?
Testing Strips? The machine itself is great! However, I wish there would have been some prompting that there was not one testing strip inside the box or even that they were needed. I ordered this for my dad as his broke. He is in another state, so I am not aware of what is needed to check his sugar levels. He received this product and then was not able to use it because he did not have any strips that are necessary to use the machine. I would have gladly sent them upon the first order. As it is, they are being sent a week later in order number two.

Perfect little meter
This glucose meter is just perfect! It is very small and easy to travel to with. Despite its size, the display is well illuminated and easy to read. I like how it connects to my phone via Bluetooth and transmits the results of my blood sugar readings to my phone in real time. The companion app allows me to easily trend my blood sugar levels overtime, and reports can be printed off with ease for my physician to review. I highly recommend this meter!

It's a nice meter But the sounds it makes will drive you nuts. a Beep would have been fine
It's a nice meter, Sync'd nicely with the phone. But the app install and all is more complicated than need be. Lost of questions and sign ups and all. And then the noises it makes are just silly. Just give me a beep that the reading registered. But the app is fairly nice for keeping track. This is just a backup meter for me

Great Replacement for Alpha Track 3 from Zoetis
I got this after reading an article on-line about a cat clinic that uses a human glucose monitor instead of the monitors that are supposedly for animals. I can verify that my cat is being monitor correctly. The incredible difference between this monitor and the reading record using the Alpha Track 3 are significantly different. The Accu- Chek readings are consistent with the cat’s previous monitoring using the old Alpha Track 2. I did get the Alpha Track 3 and wrote a review the the unit needs to be recalled due to defect monitoring I personally experience which could have resulted in serious condition for my cat. Many years ago I had a diabetic cat and used a human monitor and never had a problem as well. But I was told that these animal monitors were accurate —- they are not.
