Best choice
An excellent product at a reasonable price. Looks good and writes well. I haven't tried breaking glass with it, but it's definitely sharp enough and strong enough to do so. Looks like a regular pen instead of a weapon. That's a plus.

Easy and handy
A tactical EDC (Everyday Carry) pen is a pretty smart tool to have. On the surface, it’s just a pen — but under the right circumstances, it can double as a defensive tool. The body is usually made from strong materials (like aluminum or steel), so it feels tough and durable, and can really take a hit.

One major flaw
Great feel, great as a pen, but I agree with others who point out that, because the cap doesn't post when writing, anyone who sees you writing will know you have a tactical pen, which is purpose-defeating. Would give it 5 stars if this were not the case.

Non permissive environment tool
The rebel pen successfully fulfills the role of a non permissible environment self defense tool. Normally I carry a CCW, however at times I will frequent an establishment that is n.p.e and while I am safe inside the arena sometimes I have to walk multiple city blocks to get there through a rough downtown area as parking is slam full everywhere. The atomic bear rebel pen is definitely a last ditch implement, but its certainly better than nothing. The pen is solid in construction and capable of piercing. The butt end of the pen can be capped. What I like is that this pen is discreet looking for what it is and not tactical looking. Some tactical pens are fairly obvious and may be met with a jaundiced eye by security. You will not have that problem with this pen.

I've tried multiple pens
This review is for this streamlined looking silver / titanium pen. Was reading some of the other reviews and honestly I don't understand them. This cap screws on which is very good compared to the other ones that pop on and off and then the little o-ring breaks. What's the o-ring brakes on the other pens it's kind of worthless The other pens I just leave them in my pocket but don't write with them because for one it's going to break and the ink cartridge is horrible this exact pan screws on so it lasts and it writes beautifully first tactical pen that actually writes good and I got mine into the arena very unassuming. I saw another review that says slippery but actually the top of this pen has a flat cap for you put your thumb for strikes You do have to realize no matter what you stab somebody with is going to be slippery so you need a flat back to hold it so it doesn't slide. So things to look for in a pen durable way to open and close it. Flat back for your thumb otherwise your hand will slide all over the place and cut yourself or flat top cap whatever you want to call it and a good writing cartridge I can actually write with this one and use it at work Of course the first time I let a customer hold it he dropped it on the ballpoint tip. Wtf. Needless to say he found out how it works after that 😂

Cap does not post when writing
One of the biggest reasons for purchasing this pen is for its "under the radar" appearance - meaning that you should be able to carry this with you everywhere without attracting suspicion or curious looks. Most other tactical pens have that "mall ninja tacticool LARPer" look - this one doesn't. However, for an EDC item, the mere fact that the pen cap does not post (i.e. attach to the end when using it to write) moves this pen from "under the radar" to "on the radar." In its standard carry configuration, the cap is screwed on and thus protects the ink end, leaving the tungsten carbide tip exposed. In this configuration, from even just a few feet away, it looks like a normal pen. If, however, you were in public and needed to sign something, you could not simply remove the cap and post it on the end over the tungsten carbide tip - you would in fact have to leave that tip exposed. Most normal pens do not look like that, and the inability to conceal that "look" would make most people do a second take and realize that you are using a tactical pen. Not only that, you now have the (albeit "first world") problem of having to deal with the pen cap. Simply placing it on the writing surface would make most people on some level go "Hmmm...why doesn't he just put that cap on the end of his pen like most people? Oh, wait, that's not a pen, that's...that's a MALL-NINJA LARPer!!!" That's my biggest gripe about this pen. As far as writing goes, without the posted pen cap, the pen is just long enough to fit comfortably in my hands. The ink cartridge writes well (comparable to your standard Bic ballpoint pen), and your order comes with two cartridges - one in the pen and one spare in the box. The shape of the pen makes it comfortable to hold, and the weight is just right - not too heavy, not too light - just enough heft to balance out the smoothness so that the pen doesn't slip and roll in your fingers as you're writing. The clip is removable if that's how you want to roll. The pen cap itself screws onto the pen side, which I think is a nice touch for two reasons: 1) fancy fountain pens have caps that screw on, so having to unscrew the cap makes people think you have an expensive, fancy pen; and 2) if you are using it in a tactical sense, the cap is unlikely to pop off and cause the pen end to stab into your hands. As much as I would love to test out the glass breaker on my neighbor's teenage son's hoopdy Honda Civic with a spoiler, I'm not going to, nor am I going to attempt to bust up some scrap wood or anything. Upon simply holding it and eyeballing it, you can tell that it is a quality piece of work. All of the parts fit together perfectly - there's no wiggling or looseness about it. Let's be real - the odds of you needing to use this as a glass breaker or as a self-defense tool are extremely low, but the odds of you using this as a pen are pretty much 100%. If you use this pen in public, you absolutely will expose to the world that you have a tactical pen, which eliminates one of the largest selling points of this pen, that of flying "under the radar." Atomic Bear - if you can make a Rebel 2.0 in which the pen cap posts, I will buy it for myself, as gifts for others, and recommend it highly to others. But for now, in its current configuration, it is not effective. If the pen cap would post, this would have 5 stars because it would truly be an EDC "under the radar" pen. But if I can only use it as a pen in private, then that removes a good part of its utility. Quality, craftsmanship, etc. are all top notch. But IMHO, an EDC tactical pen needs to be under the radar in all situations, public and private, hence the 3 stars.

Have had this tactical pen for about 5 years and have brought it all around the country and internationally for safety. It’s gone through TSA various times without detections and I’m assuming because it looks most closely to an actual pen rather than other tactical pens that have more gadgets. It’s a good size, and very sturdy. Haven’t actually tested it out on glass but feels pretty sharp.

Well built, light, flies under the radar, good pocket clip, tungsten tip window breaker, and a flat end that allows for a very comfortable and solid ice-pick style grip. It comes in a very nice little gift box, with an extra ink cartridge. You can register online for a life-time warranty and free online lessons on how to use the pen. If I were to point out 2 small weaknesses: 1- The finish on the pen makes it somewhat slick with moist hands i.e. there are no ridges or knurling (this is only really an issue if you try to hold the pen in a fencing type of hold and 2- There is no real way to secure the screw cap to the other end of the pen when you need to use the thing to actually write. IMO, you cannot get any better pen than this for 25$. In fact, this pen is probably better than some of the more expensive options out there.

Pen looks surprisingly good quality for the price and comes in a nice presentation / gift box with instructions inside and a URL for free training on how to use it. The pen itself feels solid and definitely up to the task. The screw on cap (when pen is in glass-breaker mode) is great and has a solid feel, much better than the click on variety of other pens. Overall, this pen looks like a normal pen from a foot away, so definitely has that "undercover" factor going for it too and does not scream "I'm a tacticool pen, everybody!". This can only be a good thing in any realistic circumstance. I will be buying several more for friends and family, these pens will make great and practical gifts. Very satisfied with the purchase!

Das Dung ist klasse! Ein brauchbarer Kugelschreiber und eine unauffällige Möglichkeit sich selbst zu verteidigen. Ein echter Meinungsverstärker!

Nice pen, writes well. Good to have the window break personal security feature. Biggest draw back is that the screw on cap doesn’t secure to the pen when writing. Otherwise it’s great
