This set seems well qualified to do its job. I should note that the cables are a means of mechanically, rather than pneumatically, transmitting the measured pressure to the meter on the other end i.e. the pressure pushes on a cable within, and the other end of that cable pushes on the sensing mechanism (which is presumably pneumatic) on the other end. I've never used a set like this, but it seems obvious that leaks must be avoided at the screw joints, and moreso at higher pressures. Therefore I would expect that teflon tape or some other sealant should be used at those joints (copper screws threads to copper screw threads), and that is not included in the set, perhaps expecting that anyone using this tool would have their favorite tape or sealing method. And that makes sense to me, rather than including a cheap and mediocre stopgap in the kit. Since no tees are included, I will have to install tees and probably ball valves where I want to be able to measure. In the long run that's a better solution, because it makes the meter removable and replaceable. The digital gauges seem much more expensive than the analog set of gauges, and standard batteries are required for the gauges (not included.) There's a button to calibrate / tare / zero out the digital gauges, which seems to be an advantage over analog gauges. The gauges have rather thin plastic faces, so I don't know how robust they would be if exposed directly to harsh environments.

This kit has everything needed to service/troubleshoot my tractors. It's great to have tools so I can maintain my own equipment. Components in this kit are good quality and should last a long time. Everything is neatly organized in one case so I'm not rummaging around looking for parts and pieces. So useful and a real time saver. This is an excellent value and will save a person headaches and costs if you have the motivation to service your own equipment. At least you can quickly check pressures and diagnose problems to ascertain what's going on before hauling your rig to a service center. I wholeheartedly recommend this kit. Anyone with hydraulic equipment should have this as part of their tool arsenal. It has been used multiple times on my equipment and to help my neighbor with his. Great product. Here are some of the things I’ve learned while owning it and things to consider before buying. I. Quality – This set has a generic feel to it with adequate quality for the job. I’d put it in the upper-middle of the quality scale for this type of test set and guess it should last me for years, because it’ll only get used periodically. II. Performance – It works good for many different applications, because of all the adaptors. It performed as expected and gives me the readings I’m looking for. The set-up was also as expected and worked fine. The case is hard plastic and very protective with a spot for most things, but it also has a generic feel.
