Simple, portable and well in budget!
The Safotad Baby Hip Carrier 4-in-1 version is designed to offer versatility and comfort while being slightly more streamlined than the 6-in-1 model. Here’s a review based on general user feedback:Pros1. Multiple Carrying Positions: The 4-in-1 version allows for four different carrying positions, typically including front facing-in, front facing-out, hip seat only, and back carry. This flexibility accommodates various stages of a baby’s development and different parent preferences.2. Ergonomic Design: The carrier is ergonomically designed to distribute the baby’s weight evenly, reducing strain on the wearer’s back and shoulders. It includes a padded hip seat that supports the baby’s legs in the “M” position, which is important for hip development.3. Lightweight and Compact: Compared to the 6-in-1 version, the 4-in-1 model is more compact and lightweight, making it easier to carry and store when not in use. It is a good option for parents looking for a less bulky carrier.4. Breathable Material: The carrier is made from soft, breathable fabric that is comfortable for both the baby and the wearer, suitable for use in different weather conditions.5. Adjustable Fit: The adjustable straps and waistband accommodate different body types, providing a secure and comfortable fit for most parents.6. Affordability: Generally, the 4-in-1 version is more affordable than the 6-in-1 version, making it a cost-effective choice for parents who want a versatile carrier without extra features.ConclusionThe Safotad Baby Hip Carrier 4-in-1 version is a versatile, lightweight, and affordable option for parents looking for a simple yet functional baby carrier. It offers good support and comfort for shorter periods of use and provides essential carrying positions that cater to different developmental stages. While it might lack some of the features of more advanced models, it is a solid choice for those prioritizing simplicity, portability, and budget.

Great for my 25lb 2.5 year old, better than Beco brand
My 25 lb 2.5 year old toddler broke his leg and was in a cast for a month, so I ordered this and another hip carrier (Beco in grey) to try out. I am 5’2” and weigh 108lb. We tried the Safotad first and my son found it very comfy and it supported his weight great for me. I had to tighten the strap about as far as it can go (on both models), so a lot of extra strap was hanging down that I tucked in to one of the pockets, but it felt great. There is lots of room for someone much larger. Then we tried the Beco brand. I liked the look of the design and the grey color better, and the phone pocket was in a better position for me (with my son on my right hip, for the Safotad I use the somewhat rounded bottle pocket in front of me for my phone and keys for easy access) but immediately my son complained that he didn’t like it. He was adamant that it was uncomfortable. I pressed on the seat area and could really feel the bar inside, which was right under the back of his butt. The bar that makes the Beco carrier uniquely able to collapse- which is a great concept the other carriers don’t have- unfortunately was too uncomfortable for my son. I could totally understand why he didn’t like it. The layer of plastic sheet over the bar is too thin to not have a child feel the hard bar under them, creating an uneven feeling. Also, I think the grippy silicone dots weren’t the most comfortable, either. The Safotad has a smooth seat surface (maybe for young babies the grips of the Beco are better but my 2.5 year old was snug against me in the Safotad and not going to slip off. He didn’t like the uneven feel of the Beco grippy dots, and I did read another review where they said the same thing of their child). When he got back on the Safotad I was worried he would now be put off to a hip carrier altogether after disliking the Beco, but he was happy and said it was cozy. The Safotad felt a little more comfortable for me as well vs. this Beco, and carries a half pound or one pound more of weight according to the specs. It’s been great for his grandmother to use to carry him up and down her stairs for nap when she watches him one day a week at her house. I’ve had the Safotad for a month now and it’s been really convenient. My son is very active, even with the cast, and we hike a lot. So having the Safotad has been a great thing to toss in my backpack on a hike for when he needs a break but I also need some extra support. It feels like it makes him weigh half as much as he does. And it’s a cozy way to carry him, and let him still be involved when I was cooking simple things that I could do sort of one-armed. He just got the cast off a week ago and needs a few weeks to regain strength and start walking normally again, so it’s still very handy. When we have a second baby I might enjoy using the Safotad hip carrier at times when they are younger. I don’t see it replacing a Bjorn or sling wrap, but maybe at a park or fair this would be a nice option to have when a baby is older and likes to alternate crawling and being up and down. It’s great for a toddler under 30lbs who still likes to be (or needs to be, as in our case) carried a lot. This is a great price, same as the Beco, and feels comfy for the kiddos and for me personally. My husband could certainly use it too if he wanted to (but he is super strong and just carries my son without hardship) at 5’10” and 150lb. And it could definitely fit someone bigger. The big zipper pocket compartment is convenient. Really like this overall, a VERY well-spent $30!

A Must-Have for Parents – Comfortable, Supportive & Convenient!
I recently purchased the Safotad Baby Carrier with Hip Seat in Grey, and I couldn’t be happier with it! This carrier is a game-changer for both comfort and convenience. The ergonomic "M" shape design provides amazing support for my baby’s hips while keeping them snug and secure. I love that it offers multiple carrying positions, which makes it super versatile for different situations—whether I’m running errands, going for a walk, or soothing my baby around the house. One of the best features is the padded waistband, which helps distribute the weight evenly and prevents strain on my back. I was worried about discomfort, but this carrier feels incredibly lightweight and breathable, even during longer wear. The large storage pocket is another bonus—perfect for holding essentials like my phone, baby wipes, or a small bottle, so I don’t need to carry an extra bag!For the price, this carrier exceeds expectations in quality and functionality.
