Urolithin A UA 30g Powder

UPDATE: the company reached out to me and offered me a free bottle of their capsules, I really never expected that. I will try the capsules after I use up the powder. I am not a smoothie drinker as it was suggested to add to a smoothie, however it does work well added to some yogurt. I am very pleased with this company and the customer service I received especially since I did not even ask for anything. I am changing my review to 5 stars for excellent customer service! I have been using this product for just about one week. I am finding it difficult to like right now. First, the packaging is not good. It comes in a 1 oz pouch with a scoop in it. Once you open the pouch it is difficult to get the scoop out without wasting the product which is so expensive to begin with that I was literally licking the powder off my fingers as to not waste it. Also the pouch does not stand up well so further risk of wasting product as you’re trying to get a scoop. The scoop has a groove in backside that the powder sticks in so more waste of product when that falls out all over the counter. I finally transferred the product to a small jar to make it easier to scoop and use, however this is also not easy as the product has different size of powder so there was a lot of residue in the package that didn’t come out. Second, this product does not dissolve or mix well, there are granules left in the glass after mixing it and it just doesn’t dissolve, wasting more product that is difficult to get out of the glass. I also tried putting the scoop directly into my mouth as to not waste any of it and thought I would choke, it was so dry and still difficult to wash down. I have now switched to using a small wire mesh strainer that I put the scoop in and rub the product through that into my glass this helps, but still have a few larger granules that go through the mesh. Lastly, I am now just feeling as though I am capable of getting more done in a day, not a burst of energy or anything, just getting more things done without feeling like I just can’t do anything else.So that is a plus, however I am going to try another Urolothin A product once I’m done with this one, as the price is just too high and due to the amount of waste of the product. I know there are capsules, but I have read that the absorption is better with the powder. I notice all reviews of this product are through vine members so this is an honest review from someone who paid full price for the product!

I take a labeled dose of it ( with whey protein powder, plus various isolated amino acid powders ) just prior to my twice weekly resistance training sessions. It's hoped that urolithin-A will help to either improve my skeletal muscle strength or increase my muscle mass. But alas, after about 5 weeks of use I can't honestly say that I'm overall stronger than beforer or have gained any lean muscle mass at all. Note that although I'm now age 70, I'm still in good health and am quite fit. This is partly because I have nearly 27 years of near continuous fitness training, and 24 years of experience with both health and athletic performance supplements. One observation that I'm very disappointed about is its insolubility in Brita filtered, hot water :-( This is an issue because unless it can be dissolved, it cannot be absorbed in the small intestine. Instead, it will merely pass through the GI tract and be excreted as expensive feces. I have no idea whether or not the package contains what it's labeled to contain. I also know nothing about its purity. If it's sourced from an Asian or southeast Asian country other than Japan, then I'm concerned about whatever contamination may be present in it. For a while, I'll continue taking it — but this will be based only on faith and “best practice”. But if my future internet research into urolithin-A reveals that it actually has good aqueous solubility, then I'll dump this product in a heartbeat, knowing then that it's a sham.

A small and simple pouch, you might get the feeling this is a precious commodity. Very little information beyond the basics you need to know. I've included photos of the front and back. This is not my first time taking Urolithin A, but the other times have been in capsules. The powder is very fine and dissolved easily. There is absolutely no taste or smell to the powder, even placing it directly on the tongue. The suggested serving size is 500 mg (the size of the scoop), or 1,000 mg. That would be either 60 or 30 servings from the 30 grams supplied. I don't include efficacy in my reviews, supplements are too subjective. You've probably read about Urolithin A if you're looking at this. It gained my attention due to my health being impacted by a gut bacteria imbalance following an illness a few years ago. It's one of several different supplements I've taken since. I've vastly improved, but of course I can't single out what helped and what didn't. Quality in this one appears to be good..
