Great book for anyone wanting to live pain free..!
Chris Shelton’s Easy Guide to Fix Neck and Back Pain is easy to understand for anyone new to this holistic perspective of the human body. I’ve had the good fortune to both study with and experience first hand, Chris Shelton’s form of Curative QiGong. So I know from personal experience how immediate and effective his treatments can be. I was suffering from injuries from 25 years of lifting, causing my lower back to be chronically tight and painful. During my first session with Chris, after two stretches I was walking around with such better posture. I stood tall, without any pain..! ! I dubbed it as “I was like a Toy Soldier” with perfect posture.From my own experience, I can attest to how effective these methods are, and this book captures those teachings beautifully. Since learning the Psoas Stretch and GB 27 -28 release myself, (which stretches the upper end of the Psoas) I am so happy to be able to treat myself, and I no longer experience lower back pain. The best part of it is, this information is now available to everyone who reads this book! It is so clearly and eloquently written with such depth of knowledge, anyone can achieve a pain free life. The illustrations make it very easy to understand his approach. I’m going to gift this book to many of my friends, and I highly recommend this book for anyone with neck or back pain.This book is packed with layers of knowledge, making it invaluable for anyone seeking to become pain-free like myself.. The key understanding that one’s emotional landscape being a major contributor to a person experienceing a tight Psoas muscle, has been made very clear in his writings. The foundation of knowledge elicited in the book helps guide the reader to being able to achieve vibrant health from the Chinese Medicine perspective. Chris addresses the many aspects of diet / nutrition, stretching, QiGong, cupping, gua sha, stress management and more. Included in this power packed book is a basic understanding of Yin Yang and the 5 Element Theory. Included are insights on how to ultimately better understand your body, mind and spirit and become your own healer. Beyond the Quick Fix, Excellent Book Examines the "WHY?"
I've suffered from back and neck pain off and on for years. Sometimes (but not always) an OTC painkiller or practitioner (e.g., chiropractor, massage therapist) could alleviate the worst symptoms. But that's what I was doing, addressing the symptoms, but not the actual cause of the problem. I figured stress and anxiety played a role at some level, yet I never understood how. Shelton's clear and concise book finally made that crucial connection for me. "Crucial" because I always felt at the mercy of pain, rather than seeing it as my body doing its job - sometimes too well. Now, I can name it to tame it - or at least address and manage it in a thoughtful, healthy way. I recommend the book to anyone who experiences regular or semi-regular back or neck pain and have tried to medicate it away or spent thousands of dollars trying to fix the symptoms without really thinking about the cause - the WHY.

I love this book!
The author's descriptions and explanations are thorough and easy to understand. The diagrams and photos clearly show the muscles, anatomy, and exercises he describes. Shelton's life story is compelling, and gives me so much hope that I can actually do something to relieve my chronic back pain. I like that his approach to healing is both physical and spiritual. I'm keeping it out, as I will be referring to it often.
