It Works
I walk my dog every day past a house that has 2 (and sometimes more) dogs tied to the front porch with a flimsy piece of string. I know that they have gotten loose and on more than one occasion have attacked other dogs and/or people. I can't go another way around them, so I carry Halt with me whenever I walk my dog past that house. I used it once when one of their dogs came after us. It worked, however, it can be tricky to keep your dog from getting sprayed. I shortened my dog's leash and got between my dog and the attacker before I sprayed. The attack dog ran in the opposite direction. That dog still barks at us when we go by, but he no longer tries to get loose.

Saved us several times
I was issued this product the first time through work. Had to use it when a dog tried to attack me and it worked with just a tiny squirt. He came back for a second squirt within about 2 minutes so it’s best for giving you time to escape. It made me a believer though. I used it when I was delivering packages a few times too. I now drive a semi and bring my dog with me. I noticed some drivers are overconfident in their voice control and have their dogs off leash at truck stops so I started carrying it again. Today it saved my dog and maybe me too. Three fully grown bullies were tethered together and coming for us h#ll for leather. I had bullies before so I knew it wasn’t to play. Their owner was running behind them but too far away. I pulled this spray off my lanyard and sprayed the lead dog full in the face. He kept coming so I hit him again from the side as he lunged to bite my dog. He veered off then the second and third ones came in and I sprayed them too. I was praying it would work because I know how determined bullies can be. All three were kind of dazed and their owner arrived to grab their tether. The lead dog who got the most direct spray was rubbing his face in the grass. I explained to him it was just pepper spray and we got the heck out of there. I’m so thankful I had the spray with me! My poor Ella is not a fighter and would have been seriously injured or killed by three dogs attacking her. Get this spray and carry it with you every single time you’re out walking. You never know what might happen

Worked well for me
I'm an avid cyclist. I've often been chased by dogs but never had any real problems until last year. I was attacked by two dogs. One leapt into the air and caught the back of my thigh. I called 911 for help and a sheriff's deputy came but couldn't really do anything since I was riding in a rural area. He also couldn't find the dogs. After that I've started carrying Halt in my jersey on rural rides.I hadn't had a chance to really test it until yesterday. I was doing a weekly group ride. Our route takes us past a place where the owner is known to leave his large pack of dogs loose on his property and they love to chase cyclist. I was on the front of our pace line when we approached and heard the dogs coming. I told the guy behind me that I was pulling out my spray. I didn't want him to get caught by any fallout. I accelerated and three dogs came up on me pretty fast. I steered with one hand. I turned and took careful aim on the first dog being sure to get him in the snout. He dropped off and I hit the sencond and then the third dog. After that the rest of the pack, it was at least 10 dogs, stopped chasing and left the rest of the riders alone. The guys behind me informed me that each dog that I hit immediately dove to the side of the road pushing their face into the ground. I've wondered if this spray would work well because when testing it in my yard I noted that it seems to have a pretty weak spray and its more of a stream than a fog. I had tried to use the spray one time before but held the can upside down, it quit spraying, and didn't aim, just kind of sprayed in the general area of the dogs. So it didn't work very well. I've found the key to having Halt work is to be sure and hold the can upright and aim for the dogs snout. One thing that was helpful is that the spray is an orange stream. It acts kind of like a tracer bullit, in that it let me know exactly where it was going.I do wish the spray had a stronger and larger stream. It make it easier to hit the dog while moving. Otherwise, I would have given this 5 stars. The stream was good though in that nobody behind me got hit with any overspray.

Exactly like the 70's Mailmen used
This is the original can and ingredients my Dad used to deter dog attacks while he walked his US mail delivery route. It has a direct stream with droplets that fill the air around the stream. Be sure to rinse the outlet hole with clean water after use. Otherwise the solution will gum up the hole and interfere with spray.

Works!
I’m a runner and this is the safest and friendliest way to repel any aggressive animals. It was recommended by my neighbor and mailman after being attacked and bitten by a pack of dogs.Doesn’t hurt animals. Just a startling smell that they don’t like. If I have used it, I just squirt it in the air and they’re off!Although, I might add that my dog and I were followed by a coyote once and in that situation I was a little more aggressive out of fear! And it worked!!! That coyote was out of there so fast! And so were we! Ha!

Won't be without
After my dog was attacked by a pit bull twice, I will not walk him without carrying this with me. I recently had to use it, and it kept the aggressive dog at bay.

Blue can arrived
I ordered the can in the picture. I got a blue can instead of a white one. I don’t know if there’s any difference in the chemicals but I ordered the white can with the blue border. The white can I’ve used and it works. That’s why I ordered the white can.
