It heats up quickly, the temperature control is accurate, and the plates are very solid and easy to clean. One thing I really like is that there’s no need to add oil at all … the non-stick plates work brilliantly, and the food cooks perfectly without sticking. I’ve used it for grilled chicken,waffels , paninis and sandwiches so far, and everything cooks evenly on both sides.taste stays perfect…perfect family size . The option to use upper, lower or both grills is really useful, and the 180° opening gives plenty of space when needed. It feels sturdy, not flimsy like some cheaper grills, and the cool-touch handle is a nice safety feature.

The silver AMZCHEF grill has all but taken up residence on our kitchen counter. Most mornings it turns out eggy crumpets for the children, and more than once it has rescued me with a midnight cheese and onion toastie after a blustery tramp up Bennachie. The box includes four hot-swap plates, two flat, two ridged, plus the waffle pair. They snap into place with a click that is oddly satisfying, the sort of sound that tells you the engineers actually tried the thing before signing it off. Cleaning is blessedly dull, exactly as it should be. A damp cloth deals with porridge splashes, and on lazier days I let the dishwasher do the hard work. The non-stick coating is still spotless after three months of near-daily abuse. I like the way the temperature dial moves in five-degree increments, and the bright LED read-out saves the usual game of guesswork. My wife prefers pale, fluffy waffles, while I am usually intent on branding a steak, so that fine control earns its keep. All said, the AMZCHEF delivers gorgeously seared food, feels built to last and, in a flat where every centimetre matters, justifies the footprint it occupies in our kitchen.
