Tried and returned- twice.
The actual set is very cute but not well made enough to warrant keeping (we tried two and had the same problem both times). The blue knob came off within seconds of our little one playing with it, so we sent it back for another which had the same problem. Boo! It's a great size and for people who don't want to devote a lot of space for a full kitchen set it serves its purpose. As others have mentioned, the photo is misleading in including the cooking items but we ordered separately knowing they didn't come with the cook top.Bottom line: We wanted to love it but the quality issue necessitated two returns and we expect more for the price (and what you get). We went with a small Little Tykes kitchen instead.

lots of fun
after viewing lots of kitcheny things and the reviews that went along with them, i had longed for just a stove stop, why didn't anyone make one i thought until this came up on page 5 of my search. so I bought this for my daughters 2 year old birthdayupon opening it one of the knobs was not secure so i just glued it and as a dork glued it too well so that its not turning, but i can fix that. Its cute, and really portable and stow able which is what i was looking for because we have a limited space and do not want some large toy kitchen taking up so much space and the mess cleans up fast, she plays with it probably as much as a large one anyway. we make refrigerators out of cardboard boxes and play with a metal pot set i bought from Ikea, although i think some metal ones are available here also, i love the hanging area for stuff like pots pans and mitts and a turn of a knob and that fold and stows away flat.it is so portable we take it into the kitchen, plop it on a table, ottoman, chest, bed, coffee table and play with it in other places which you cant do that with other large sets, the picture shows how the products look and are sold separately, i think most people know that and the pictures aren't trying to be deceptive, but just know you may want to get the mitts pots pans, food and utensils if you like.its so much more fun than a big useless one that will be outgrown in a year or two anyway.you'll love it!!! its cute and portable and just the right size for us, and who doesn't love the all wood components?, at least it wont be around for 900 years and land up in some future anthropological museum in 500 years where they dug it up of a giant landfill

Has the essentials. Mix with imagination and serve.
This looks and acts enough like a stove top to satisfy the requirements of a child's imagination. Children can make toys out of the simplest objects, and that is a very good thing. This toy is well constructed and rugged. It has all the essentials, but not too much. The child's imagination controls it; it does not constrain the child's play. My two year old grandchild knew instantly what it was and what to do with it. I feel this is a very good toy in an age when so many toys seem to do the playing while the child sits by and watches.

Solid, fun and compact.
This is a great choice if you're looking for a kitchen that doesn't overtake your living room. It sits nicely on a table or chair to be a good toddler height. WARNING: it doesn't fit together at the back exactly like the picture, there's a gap that's not shown between the back of the cooktop part and the rack that folds up at the back. HOWEVER, the wooden crates that come with "Melissa & Doug Food Groups" fit PERFECTLY in this gap, even stack 2 high, and create some storage space. It's just different from the picture. But for the money, this is super.

Satisfied
This product was a good find. It's nice to be able to fold it up and store it in the closet. I love that it is wooden. The only thing I would change is the clock. You can't set the time. The hour and minure hands fall down to 6 when trying to set the time. There is no way to tighten it. We've ended up not even using it, which is a bummer because my daughter who is 4 years old is interested in telling time, but can't with this kitchen. I would make it twist to tighten like a screw or something.

Disappointed in quality
I was excited to receive this item for my son's birthday since he loves to watch me cook and seems interested. He had only had it for 3 days and the clock hands had already fallen off. They weren't functional to begin with and were so loose that they would just spin around, but I didn't expect them to completely come off. I am hoping the other pieces stay on but I'm not too hopeful after reading some of the other reviews. I read reviews before my purchase and was prepared that the clock hands would be "loose" and spin but didn't think they would actually fall off. We also purchased a cookware set by Alex and are having problems with that coming apart too. I'm not sure I will purchase Alex products again.

Space saving cook top
I bought this because we don't have room for a big kitchen set. My son likes it but doesn't play with it quite as much as I expected. The stove seems pretty sturdy. Some of the edges are a little less finished than I expected (especially for the price). It does not come with the accessories and I did buy a set of pans, utensils and hot pads from Alex toys that fit this stove. The burners are pretty small so most sets of pots you might buy in the store are going to be too big for this stove.

wish it was more durable and quality of wood was better.
I got this for my daughter because it looked durable and we'll made and not big and bulky since we are limited on space. My daughter likes it and there's nothing wrong with it but it isn't as durable and strong as it looked. I feel like if it was dropped it would probably break. So if you own a daycare or have kids that are rough on things I probably wouldn't recommend it to them.
