Awesome Seasoning For All Cast-Iron Cookware
If you own and use cast-iron cookware, this is the best stuff to effectively and efficiently season your cookware. This product consists of organic palm, coconut and sunflower-seed oils blended with Vitamin E and citric acid to form a thick, super-smooth paste. Alternatively, you can also use red-palm oil to season your cast-iron cookware, but I find this product is much easier to use. Some people use olive oil to season their cast-iron cookware, but I found olive oil too runny. This product is a white-colored paste which does not lend the red color to your cooking that red palm oil often does and it sticks to all surfaces unlike olive oil. In short, this Camp Chef product is the best seasoning that I have used. It wipes on perfectly as a smooth cream. You simply wipe it on all the surfaces of your cast-iron cookware and that's it. If you want to take an extra seasoning step after wiping it on, you can then bake your cast-iron cookware in your oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 30 - 45 minutes. If you do this extra step, remember to leave your cookware in the oven to slowly cool naturally afterward. However, baking your cast-iron cookware is not necessary with this product. Simply remember to wipe this product on after each time you use (and clean) your cast-iron cookware. If you do this, your cast-iron cookware will last forever, will never rust, and will provide you with an excellent non-stick cooking surface each and every time.

Just repackage it and it's the best way to care for cast iron!
Great product that does exactly what it should. My cast iron pans are things of beauty! Only use a little bit each time and my pans are never sticky or smell rancid, even after months of storage -- I use one of my pans rarely and its just as nice as the ones that get daily use. However, the blend of oils in this conditioner are rock-solid at cooler room temperatures. No matter how hard you squeeze the tube, it just isn't coming out in the middle of winter. It is easy to work around. Remove the top of the tube and prop it up in warm water for a while until the contents melt. You may have to replace the water a few times to keep it warm enough to melt the conditioner but DON'T boil it ---- you want to melt the conditioner, not the plastic tube! After it melts pour it into a wide-mouth container such as one hand cream comes in. I found a great double-walled plastic jar that holds 10 ounces at a craft store for a dollar or two. Now it's easy to dab a paper towel into the conditioner and get just enough each time. Warming the conditioner and repackaging it may take a bit of time, but the tube lasts me about two years and is works so well it's worth the trouble.

An excellent compound to keep cast iron and steel pans in top condition.
This is the most convenient way to preserve and season any cast iron or steel pot and pan. I have used it for years and I am always happy with the results. I do a bit of cooking and as I use induction, blue or mineral steel as welll as cast iron are important tools. This oil mixture is great. I never have problems with rust and I never have to worry about the surfaces of my pans. Simply wash in warm water with a little soap, dry and place the pan in a warm oven for an hour or so. Then apply a light coat of this mixture and rub it in. Store the pan with the mixture still coating the inner surface and it will be ready for the next use. Simple, efficient and good value for money. I would not use anything else and recommend it to all my friends.

Great Product, little tricky in Cold Weather
Very effective, but a little tricky to use in cold weather. I'm a cast iron skillet newbie, and got this to keep my pans in top form. The compound that comes out of the tube is a mix of various non-meat oils that really coat the pan well and give it a great finish. The way I use it is to: 1) cook 2) rinse with water and a steel brush 3) wipe off with a dedicated rag 4) Air Dry for 10 mins 5) Heat for about 2 mins on medium heat 6) squirt a dime sized glob on the center of the pan 7) carefully wipe down with paper towel over all surfaces. Now about the cold weather part; we live in the North and keep our house pretty cold in the winter and the tube is stored in a cabinet. It's probably about 50 degrees in the cabinet, and I have to actually jam a chopstick in the opening in order to get any paste to come out. I'm probably the in the minority here but FYI... Overall its worth it, still love how the pans look and cook using this product. Hope this helps!

Thick, but worth it!
Had to use the website to add pictures. App didn't work...interesting. Pros: - It fixed my seasoning on my cast iron with one burn in. Put it on the stove- lightly coated inside with conditioner- heated until it smoked- removed from heat after 1 min- let cool and added more conditioner when slightly warm. - used very little conditioner - Cons: - very hard to squeeze out at first - in my opinion, price is high for every meal use, but worth it for seasoning repairs - Update: march 2017 - The seasoning on my skillets have gotten to the point where I only have to use this product one a week. So I do not have to use it every meal. Also, crisco works well after seasoning with this product so I do not have to use it every time. Still worth the money in my eyes!
