Really powerful, very satisfied
Nice crossbow! Easy to assemble, although the directions are sketchy. I had to use a YouTube video to be sure I was doing it right. Extremely powerful and accurate. The scope is acceptable. My only criticism is the detachable quiver. It won't lock on tight, and it's oriented in a way that it will interfere with your hands no matter which side you mount it on. I bought an adaptor so that I can mount it out front at 90 degrees rather than inline with the bow stock. I recommend this bow. Already shot a couple deer, through and through.

Great Bow for a great price
I've had this x-bow for four years now and have hunted dozens of times and taken about 12 deer with it. EVERY single deer I have killed has been a pass thru shot. Shoots very flat and accurate out to 50+yds (I don't shoot at deer past 35yds). This is my second Barnett, previously I had the Predator x-bow for 12+ years, that was a great bow too. Barnett makes great bows, it's my favorite brand.

Consistantly accurate and feels great in the hands
I upgraded to this from my Barnett Droptine STR and man, what a difference. It's lighter, the grips feel better, and they're rubberized to enhance your grip. Just be warned, the trigger is unforgiving. There is zero play and only 3 lbs of pull required. It's a great feature, when you're prepared for it. Just don't cough with your finger on the trigger. (Lost my first arrow into a concrete wall. Yes INTO) This crossbow is great. Took me a little wile to adjust to the crank cocking device. While a rope cocker is faster, with a little practice, the CCD is almost as quick, and with very little effort needed. My shoulders appreciate that. I've been practicing with both field tips and broadheads and It's accurate. At 20 yards it blows right through my foam Morrell target with a practice broadhead. Can't wait to get in the woods with it for deer season and see what it can really do.

Nice crossbow
I like this crossbow. Good price and quality. The Halo optic is ok to get started. The trigger is awesome. I ordered my STR with a cocking crank. Works well but begins to stick after a few cycles. Easy fix though. unwind then rewind with slight tension and it's back to working smoothly. I did also ordered the cocking rope which is quick and easy to use once you get the length right. One thing that needs to be mentioned...the advertised speed of 400 fps is only achieved with a very light bolt. This is pretty much true with all crossbows. I am getting 371 fps using a 385 gr. Carbon Express bolt.

Incredible hunting crossbow for the full-sized hunter.
I've had mine for a month or so now and have even taken one whitetail (doe) with it in that time.Lets start off with the cons ----1.) I've got little issue cocking this, but I can easily see people smaller and/or shorter (I'm 6' 1" 265lbs) having some tremendous trouble with it. It does absolutely wear me out after several shots though.2.) The side quiver attachment (lets it run parallel to the stock) will not work for you if you have big hands. Bolts are resting on my triggerhand and hit my off arm/shoulder while aiming if I flip sides with it when I have it in this configuration.3.) All the decals on mine (ie the safety label) started to peel off after the first day of shooting it. Little super glue on em and the problem is solved. But still...Okay now for the pros -----1.) Trigger is one of my favorite factory triggers I've ever shot in many years of competitive shooting. No give whatsoever, but just a smooth crisp pull.2.) For how fast its slinging bolts and boy does it sling em, its actually pretty quite.3.) No too heavy to lug around, but still enough to get a stable offhand shot when needed.4.) For a full sized crossbow its pretty compact when cocked5.) I'm liking the illuminated 7 distance scope A LOT more than I originally though6.) Thing is stupid accurate at least out to 40 yards offhand. Haven't benched it beyond that just yet.7.) I wear a size 14 boot and the STR allows at least my 30-50 degree weather insulated booted fit through with no issue8.) Front pic rail allows for an assortment of more tactical optionsTo me personally, the cons aren't very big. I've got this bow paired with some Rage EXTREME 4 Blade broadheads (really shine with the speed of this bow). Did the trick on my first deer at 20 yards (even if it was a semi-bad shot at no fault of the crossbow itself).

Dangerous product. Terrible customer service.
I bought this Barnett Whitetail Pro STR Crossbow 2 months ago. It was shot about 20 times to sight it in. It was waxed, stored in a case, never dropped or dry fired or in any way mishandled. I was heading out opening day and heard a loud crack from the bow. The right arm had split completely down the seam and looked like it was about to come apart. I contacted customer service (Dylan) who was not surprised or apologetic that this bow had dangerously failed before ever making it out on opening day. He told me that the bow could not be replaced and had to be repaired. I could either pay (labor) to have it done locally or send it in for repair and likely not have it for this season. I was also instructed to discharge the damaged bow prior to bringing/shipping it in for repair, the user manual specifically advises against this saying it can lead to serious injury or death. In attempts to reconcile the situation, I offered to pay the difference for an upgrade so I could get a different model sooner and, again, I was not accommodated in any fashion.I thought Barnett was an established company with a good reputation, I am here to tell you that this is not the case. I understand that things happen and break. When this happens, the customer should be prioritized at the top. We supported your company and deserve to reap the benefits of our purchase.CUSTOMERS: You are much better off paying a bit more for a different brand which will take care of you when their equipment fails. In my personal experience, Barnett does NOT.
