Well, what is there to say. These are so well-made and so unbelievably great. I ended up purchasing two more as gifts. I also purchased the holder that they go in. I make golden paste a couple times a month. A crucial ingredient of the recipe is 2-3 teaspoons of freshly ground pepper. 2-3 teaspoons of ground pepper is not easy with a hand grinder. Another electric grinder I had put out an inconsistent grind, and did not have a consistent output of pepper. It took the same amount of time to grind the pepper as the non electric grinder, I just didn't have to grind. No better in my opinion. This one, though expensive is the goat! It does what it says. There is a consistent output of pepper, on going if I hold the button, and I can choose the grind size, and its fast. If I had to find something to improve, I guess I would say the reservoir where you put in the peppercorns is small, needing to refill often. And there is a little extra ground pepper that comes out after you finish grinding. However, even with those details, if you are looking for a good pepper grinder and want it conisitan and effortless, this is the product for you. It does not disappoint and its worth the cost.

I have had several Peugeot salt and pepper grinders over the last 20 years, including the original model, the rechargeable model and now this new touch top model. First, they’re great — but a caveat: they don’t last forever. On average, I’ve had to replace one about every 10 years, and that’s OK.Once you get used to the convenience of using an adjustable electric grinder, it’s hard to ever go back to the manual kind, especially if you do a lot of cooking and you are a big fan of fresh ground spices.So far, this has been my favorite of the three models that I’ve owned, but I almost sent it back. As a veteran owner, I already knew how to take it apart and insert the batteries, fill it with pepper, and put it all back together. (It’s a little tricky — NOT completely intuitive — so if this is the first time you are using a Peugeot electric grinder, read the directions.) However, when I set this one up, it didn’t operate. So I sat down with the instruction booklet and confirmed that I had done everything correctly and it just wasn’t working. Disappointed. I was resigned that I would have to send it back. But I decided to give it one last try by going to the market and replacing the batteries that came with the grinder with new batteries from the store. VOILA!!! Works like a charm. I am thrilled that I don’t have to return it. I’ve read the reviews about machines that stop working prematurely, so I’m hoping this one lasts as long as my others. If it grinds to a halt (no pun intended), I’ll try changing the batteries. On the other hand, we all know Peugeots can be temperamental!

The unit comes in a very nice package well packed and very giftable. These feel like quality and look great. The salt worked great and has continued to work great, however the pepper had issues from the get-go, sometimes it would grind, then not, sometimes the light would work, then not. We used the Amazon reorder with resend and returned the used pepper and unused salt, kept the original salt and the replacement pepper. Now both seem great. Wish they were rechargeable, Use 6 AA batteries each, will see how long the batteries last, like the ability to easily change the grind from fine to course. Over all only a 4 star because we needed to exchange the pepper, would however purchase again.

Like the adjustable grinds; use one for cooking and another for finishing. And one can adjust the pepper seasoning to adjust the grounds further. Battery life ok but one should buy a total replacement of 6 AAA so you always are prepared. The light is handy and one can see the size of the grounds; important on salads and soups. We love it!

These mills usually have to be returned 2-3 times before you can get two that work. If you need to replace them, wait for the replacement to arrive (if you order them through Amazon), open the second box and check out all four of the mills to see if you can get two that work. Very poor quality workmanship for the cost and poor customer service, which is basically non existent. Left 2 messages and have still not gotten a call back or any response for that matter. Very disappointed!

This item is a more expensive pepper mill and salt mill but so easy to use. Battery Operated. All you do is fill and screw on top then press when you want sale or pepper. You can control the amount you want to dispense on your food. Sharp looking and comes with a little flat stand if you desire to use it. It did not come with great instructions but a quick google search brought up how to set up and use. I really like grinding the salt and pepper.

Replacing a more generic less costly pepper mill. Had a difficult time sorting through all the reviews for all the different grinders, but settled on the Peugeot. 7 months latter and I’m super happy I got this one. Great heft and feel to it. Very easy to activate the grinder button on top, our old one required more pressure from your finger to get it to grind. The burrs are great, and the different coarseness it creates is more diverse than our prior one as well. Overall it feels a step up in design and build. We use it daily and it’s a true delight.
