Don't Make em Like They Used To
A mere shadow of my old Aiwa system and this is the closest I could come, based om User Reviews that all summed up to: They just don't make 'em like they used to, anymore. Amen, brother. Disappointing sound, due to an Equalizer in name only; no audio spectrum display, much less compensation, to which the addition of a toy turntable - so prominent nowadays in all those "nostalgia boxes" that I would never trust my precious vinyl collection to, is no compensation. It all renders the playback of CDs, but especially tapes, to below their capability and I have plenty of both that I like to play away from my main system, if only as background music while I'm otherwise busy. Bluetooth? Don't even get me started on wireless-anything.It's not like I expect the world out of any box made out of plastic, but just to show how low the bar has fallen, here's my old, plastic, Aiwa NSX-A909 that finally gave out after (count 'em) 19 years of offering all one could ever ask of any compact system of its type. Don't ask me for details: it's User Manual can still be found online for A-B comparison to anything of its type on the market today, Read them and weep.

Alert when buying electronics
Here goes nothing. We purchased this stereo system a few months ago. It has a 90 day warranty and no offer for an extended warranty. Here's the problem: When we bought the system we were in the process of buying a New home. SO when it arrived we took it out of the box to see it and then out it back in it's box, complete with packing exactly as we received it. We moved to our New home in mid-February 2015 And set the stereo system up in a CUTE little corner cabinet with an open shelf designed for electronics. Fast forward to June 21, 2015. We had company over the weekend and I g it out some CDs to play. The radio works. The tape player works (haven't tried the dubbing/recording side yet) and we haven't tried the turntable/phonograph yet. I followed instructions in the manual. Put in 3 CDs but the little lines just keep flashing. The manual says the window will tell me how many COs I have, how many tracks and which one is playing. THE CD PLAYER DOES NOT WORK!!!!! I called the number in the manual. Th representative said there is probably a faulty mechanism to the CD player. For them to repair or replace it, I need to send it to them with $120. The whole thing only cost $160. I am SO disappointed! I am New to Amazon and have been completely Happy - until now. We lost our home 4 years ago in a national disaster - flooding. It took this long for us to be paid for our home and start over. We bought a different home and were replacing stuff - including the stereo. I guess Buyer Beware would be appropriate here. I am so disappointed, I could cry. This was our only chance to replacecsomevof what we lost. The manufacturer got paid for the product. We could have kept tho old one - it was already broken - and saved more than $160.😯

Good little system for the money.
It plays vinyl records in 3 speeds, CDs, and tapes. The sound is good. The instruction booklet is in very small, light print which made it hard for me to figure out. The booklet kept telling you to dust the unit often. The cover for the record player is open on all four sides instead of being a closed like our old unit. I don’t care for that feature at all. The picture of the unit does not show the cover as being open. If I had known this I probably would not have purchased it. The other features though are fine.

Jensen JMC1250
Great little stereo system. I have tried all functions (except Bluetooth), everything works as presented in the Amazon info. Am enjoying vinyl & CDs I forgot I even had. Bluetooth will be checked soon. Due to reviews by disappointed buyers, I did purchase the extra warranty from ASURION; hopefully, it won't be needed.Extra Comments:-- Volume is fine, for me. Unit is in my home office, never needed to turn it all the way up for listeningenjoyment.-- Equalizer is a nice surprise, I missed that feature before buying unit.-- Love that the CDs can be 'randomized'. My existing 5 disk player has the same feature & have enjoyed thatfeature for many years. Yes,...the platter is a little noisy when rotating the CDs, but it's no more noisy thanmy Sony player when changing CDs-- All vinyl has played through the end of a record and stopped at the end as stated. Some buyers have statedthe turntable doesn't play through to the end before it stops. That may be happening on extended playalbums (i.e. live performances). Someone stated the length the album plays might be set at the factory, so allregular length might be fine.

Sounds terrible
Bought this for my 12 year old son who has records, cassettes, CDs and mp3s to play. It's perfect for him since it does it all, but the sound quality is really poor. Extremely muddy. There are different EQ presets like Rock Pop, Jazz, etc. and a bass boost button. Unfortunately the bass boost only works on some settings. Some settings sound crazy tinny, others more mellow, but there's no mids. It only has upper bass frequencies and treble, making it sound really muddy. Awful to me but decent to him since all he had before was an Alexa for music. Will probably keep it since he likes it but absolutely would not for myself.I was worried about sound quality when I found the whole thing only weighs a few lbs. Then I saw the teeny gauge speaker wires. Yep, I was right. Gahbage.

Just ok
I read the reviews and it seems that Jensen addressed the concerns with the cd changer. A note was included with it advising not to push the tray to close it. Use the button or the remote. I enjoy the random setting. The record player is fun to have. I am not an audiophile so my expectations are not the same. I find that I am using this everyday. I missed actively listening to records and cds and even cassette tapes. I can even make mix tapes again. I am so happy with this so far and will update if any issues
