Fantastic book about designing the most efficient and sustainable systems for plants, livestock and humans
This is a fantastic book showing both how to grow things and how to repair damaged land anywhere in the world. But the book is much more than this - it is all about designing the most efficient and sustainable systems for plants, livestock and humans.

Worth the price
Excellent book! There is a tree tax on this book hence most of the price, but it's well laid out and beautifully illustrated. Would recommend to anyone interested in Permaculture. Especially if taking Geoff Lawtons Permaculture course!

Present for some one else
The person receiving it was very pleased with it. I didn't see or read the book so I can't be very specific. Was very expensive, so really needed to be excellent.

A seminal book
A book that I bought around the time of the First Edition in 1988 and which has remained, grubby from reading and re-reading, on my bookshelf ever since. The underlying philosophy and science of the principles of permaculture, Bill Mollison's clear and thoughtful explanations of those principles, and the hand-drawn illustrations make the book accessible to all. The breadth of vision is wide, covering almost all habitats on the planet, and the principles are immediately applicable to the smallest garden or the largest tract of land. Were his vision to be adopted worldwide, our stewardship of this planet would be transformed from a system of consumption of natural resources to one of the maintenance and renewal of those resources. An invaluable book for anyone who values this small blue and green island in space.

The Book for Landscape Use and Planning
This Book describes the uses of nature in the best clear and pragmatics way one can imagine. It doesn't mater were on earth you are the principles are so clear, simple and implementable by the everyday man that if the costs would be reduced it could be a book for Secondary level biology for all. There will be a time many of us will loose this pragmatism and understanding of nature and its resources for the benefit of the IT World but what will really matter in the end.Very Very good Book.Robin LockThe First Curator Tropics of the Eden Project, UK
