This is the best hair straightener I have ever had and its inexpensice. Heats up in 15-20secs!!! I love that you can alter the settings using the (+) & (-) buttons and if your hold down on either of these buttons for 5 secs you can lock in your heat setting so that you hands do not change or turn the iron off while using in! Heats up Instantly, does not burn hair (however please use heat protectant/Tresseme) and it goes as high as 450 degrees. I'm a african/american so for those who wear extensions or even your natural hair it does wonders it straightens your hair instantly while giving it a natural shine and you hair. Before I used this item on my hair I got an OLD, COARSE tangled piece of hair extension and I brushed it out as much as I could spray a small bit of oil sheen set iron to about 400 and as soon as I started pressing the hair got straight, light and fluffy as if it were brand new. This iron brings old extensions back to life LOL (Reuseable again). Item is as just decribed in the promo video and pictures. I 100% recommend this product!! Excellent Product Amazon or Remington!!

I primarily use this to curl my hair and it does an excellent job but straightens hair just as well. I had this same model for 5 or 6 years before it died and when I needed a new one I bought the one on Amazon that had all the best reviews. I ended up returning that one and ordered this one instead. It's inexpensive, heats up fast, the plates are longer so you can style hair faster, and the locking mechanism is handy. It's an all around great purchase. (For reference I have medium length, thick, wavy hair but it works great for finer, longer hair as well. Unsure if it has the power to tame super curly hair but I would give it a shot.)

This is solid. The pull is smooth, no snagging, no catching of singular hairs. The variable heat settings allow you to start cooler, see what your hair can handle and needs. My hair is very light and darkens with too much heat, so I have to be careful. I use this at 340 - 360, and it works great without darkening the hair. I don't need to use product to have it work and stay straight. As to the comments about the handle being too short, where the draw-back is that you can't get enough leverage to clamp down hard enough. I'd say, at the higher heats, without a doubt, you cannot put your fingers over the plate area and do lose the ability to clamp down super tight with one hand as you pull. However, I'm not sure you need to do this as much as you _feel_ like you need to do this. I'd say it works fine without having to have your fingers directly over the plates to clamp tight. Also, if you feel you need to do this, at the tip of the straightening iron are flat spots to put your fingers to clamp tight with your second hand. So, you can put your hair in the iron, put your fingers safely in the spots at the tip of the iron -- it is made for this -- and clamp super tight as you pull. (Again, I don't really think you need this, but I get the want to do it, especially on the stubborn hairs.) As to any of the short, terse reviews saying this thing is garbage or snags or whatever -- my experience with this product shows none of that is true. This is a superior product, especially for the price.

I go thru hair straighteners like they're going out of style, no joke. So when it comes time to buy one every time I find myself contemplating a cheap one or a $100 one. I've had this straightener before, only the one with the larger plates. I loved it. It worked good and left my hair super smooth. Some straighteners pull out your hair or your hair gets stuck in the straightener as your straightening and this one isn't like that at all. It's exactly what I want when purchasing a hair straightener. It heats up quick and goes up to 450. You can lock it closed too which is awesome for storage and when it's heating up. Well worth the $25. I always end up purchasing remington because they haven't done me wrong yet. Good quality and even better price. When you get it you'll be happy you didn't waste $100... this product does the trick

Best affordable Flat iron you can ever own. Still works till this day and it’s been 8 years !

I actually bought this because I borrowed a friend's and loved it. It heats up to max heat in under a minute (probably closer to 30 seconds actually), and is very easy to use. I have incredibly thick hair (if I air dry it, it takes close to 6 hours to completely dry, and it's only chin length) so I'm used to spending 45+ minutes to straighten it. With this straightener, it doesn't take me more than 10 minutes, 15 tops. I only have to go over each section once or twice and I can move on. I don't have any issues with staticky hair or frizz afterwards even without the heat protectant that I use. The locking mechanism is really nice because I can lock it closed and put it in my heat protected holder I have hanging and not worry about it touching anything I shouldn't. I actually can't think of anything bad about this thing. As someone with stupidly thick hair that's awkwardly wavy and poofy, I straighten my hair almost daily, and this is such a godsend. I definitely recommend!

This is my 2nd Remington straightener; the 1st one stopped working after 7 years. This is by far one of the best straighteners I've used. I like how the tip of the straightener stays cool and has indentations for you to put your index/middle/thumb fingers in. Makes curling hair with the straightener tremendously easy. Also doesn't damage hair as much as other straighteners do, and none of that weird static for my baby hair either. Another good thing is that it shuts off automatically. The only con I have experienced is that sometimes it becomes hard to straighten out curls I may have made the day before. Other than that, works great! Thoroughly satisfied with the product.

I bought this straightener out of desperation after my Chi died in 2015. I had zero expectations but needed an inexpensive straightener ASAP. After nearly 4 years of regular use (10+ minutes, 3-5 times per week) I have no complaints. It still heats VERY quickly and does the job in the same amount of time (which leads me to believe it still heats to the correct temperature). My hair is naturally wavy and straightens without much effort, but it is very long and very thick. This $50 straightener does the trick every time. It's also survived being dropped on stone and tile floors and has travelled with me all over Canada and the US. Do not choose this model if you need to bring it overseas, as it is not dual voltage. Otherwise, it's been perfect!

The product is easy to use, looks original and heats up quick. The box it was delivered in was really dirty. Like it was left to die somewhere. I sincerely hope the straightner works well. Oh and also I got the incorrect product delivered. I ordered a black one and got a black and white straightner. :(

Used one time so far I can tell it's doing a great job and better than the last one I bought (different brand) There is an easy control of the temperature, a safety lock which is great for kids, it has a great look and the temperature goes higher than the average hair straightener. Very pleased with it and would recommend.
