The book is great but the condition of this book when it arrived was a little disappointing. The back cover and a few pages in the back were slit--as if it was in a box, towards the top (by the flaps) and someone had slit the box with a box cutter and accidentally also cut the book.

I got it for a grad class I teach on educational testing and have been using it for several years. My students report that they never return this book and find it useful themselves and in working with mainstream teachers.

Excellent book and all the research that contains makes this a very valuable resource. The CD includes also a great program to get information about the effects of language and culture in learning disabilities.

This is a great reference which will come in handy when I am finally a real school psychologist! I would recommend it as an addition to your library.

Pretty good and concise. Some interventions seem out of date but will be a useful reference. Another good book in the Essential series.

Very practical and helpful in making recommendations for people experiencing all manner of learning difficulties.

This small text provides a starting point for educators and clinicians in both regular and special education settings. While not at all encyclopedic, the interventions presented are accessible to the lay teacher and provide basic research references for those inclined to do a more thorough investigation.I particularly appreciated the section discussing interventions targeted at specific (CHC theory) cognitive abilities, which I find very useful when completing psychoeducational assessments.
