It does what it says. It allows you to use new usb-c chargers on older Dell 7.4mm barrel plugs. It works better than 3rd party specific Dell compatible 7.4mm chargers. I’ve order a couple of those in the past and they fail eventually. This adapter looks like it’ll last. I bought this one and from another seller. It turns out they were the same item, both work great.

I have an old Dell laptop with a worn out USB C and really hate carrying multiple chargers for my phone, tablet, etc. This tiny little adapter fixed all that. My normal Dell power supply is a 65W so this is plenty capable. My laptop never complains that it is not a "Dell charger" even though it is plugged into the round Dell power jack. I love the convenience so much, I got one for each of my USB C charging bricks.

I don't have any special test equipment, but using a 90w pd charger with this on my p50 laptop seemed to be just enough to get it to accept the power source and slow the drain, and I think enough to charge up the battery in a pinch - I can't fault this at all for the laptop being a power hog. The product seems sturdy and high quality. I think the casing must be metal, because it feels heavy. I am very happy with the product, but again have not tested it to any great extent.

This adapter does not completely go into the pin slot of my Dell Inspiron 15 3000. As a result, it does not charge my laptop. Neither does it charge my Dell Power Bank. I had bought one previously but didn’t bother to return it. I’ve learned my lesson and I’m returning this one that I just bought though.

I have an ASUS Flip-Book Laptop that uses a coaxial power plug, instead of USB-C PD, like it should have. I carry a very compact 95W USB-C PD power adapter for everything else I need to charge. With this converter, it powers the Flip-Book too. I believe there is a bit more to making it work that just changing the connector. This converter negotiates the proper voltage (19-20Vdc) for the computer, with the variable voltage USB-C PD power adapter.

Read your original power block or the laptop, what the output is. This adapter is max 100W. My Acer output is 230W, therefore this adapter can't charge my laptop. This adapter is for low power laptops.

It works great and charges my laptop smoothly. The connection is secure and the size is very convenient to carry. Highly recommend it:)

I used it for my Lenovo laptop because I wanted to use a single brick to travel fir charging all my devices. It does work as advertised, the only reason I am giving it a 4 star is because it doesn't fit perfectly in my laptop charging port (it is a tiny bit longer).
