Works a treat & over paintable
This stuff works. You can even paint over where silicone used to be, which is a huge bonus. There is still a lot of scraping to do after you have put this on. Some residue needed more than 10 minutes soaking time. You can soften the actual silicone beads with it, to help remove them. Then reapply to the bits that are left. It smells like WD40, which is a silicone, & also lifts silicone. However you cant spray that, & then paint. As its airborne it's a nightmare. I would purchase this again if I needed more. The council workmen love silicone! They use it everywhere & far more of it than needed. Silicone is the bare of my life.

Good product
Easy to use the remover gel worked well and the tool removes the residue easily.

It's no substitute for elbow grease and a sharp knife
This solvent is great for mastic residue, but not thick beads of mastic. It's still necessary to use a sharp knife to remove most of the mastic, before using the solvent. And even then I found that I needed a lot of scrubbing to remove the residue. Still, the included scraper was useful, and I've used it for other jobs as well. In the end, I got all my mastic off, but it wasn't as easy as I allowed myself to be fooled into thinking it would be.

Remover definitely works
Remover definitely helped to soften very old sealant and make it easier to remove. Still required hard work! Tool may be useful but couldn't get it to work efficiently where I was using it.

Sealant worked really well but not the tool
The sealant worked really well but I wouldn't bother with the tool. Plastic not sharpe enough

Worth it
Having tried removing bathroom sealant with and without this I will always now use this. Without it, what seems like an initially simple job ends up taking far longer than expected due to all the little bits of silicone left over. This enables you to scrape those away with relative ease. You'll still need a bit of effort but far less than you'd need without it.
