Outstanding product...looks great...works great
I purchased some smoke colored Spec D taillights for my Scion FRS. I tried tinting the reverse lights and got mixed results. It was hard to get it the right level of darkness to match the taillights. That is when I did a search for this product. Very easy to install, in fact 2 sets of directions, a paper copy, very rare, and an online video to walk you through the installation. Relatively easy install and I am a novice at wiring. You can opt for straight back up lights, or taillight and brake lights. I went with that option. Not only does it match perfectly, in terms of shade, but the taillight matches the Spec D very well. I have received numerous compliments and would highly recommend this product for your FRS.

Decent light
They look great, but as others have mentioned, they're a pain in to install. On my '16 FRS, the OEM harness only has two wires (ground and reverse lights, green wire). This means I had to wire the brake light (blue wire) and the running light (brown wire) to my driver's side taillight. This wasn't terribly difficult, similar to wiring up lights for a trailer. I gave the item 4 stars as the connectors used on the light housing are very cheap, and not remotely waterproof. I highly recommend you wrap all wires under the car in 1/4" or 3/8" protective wrap (harbor freight), and tape over all connectors. The seller includes several "vampire clips", which as always, are absolute junk. These joints should be soldered, and you may wish to add additional connectors in the trunk for the DRL and brake. The wiring harness included is sufficient, however required modification for my vehicle. By default, the ground wire is shared for the reverse and brake lights. I had to rewire this so the brake and DRL shared a ground, since those wires needed to be spliced into the taillight. You only need to splice in the brake and DRL wires to a taillight, the ground wire can be chassis grounded. You will need to depin both the OEM harness as well as the new harness to get them through the firewall grommet. As per the quality of the lights, the reverse lights aren't terribly bright; considerably less bright than aftermarket LED bulbs in the OEM reflector housing. Additionally, the DRL has a hue which is slightly more orange than the DRL of a Valenti taillight, however this is rather minor. I do not know how waterproof the housing is, as I just installed them. If you're comfortable with a fair amount of DIY wiring, then I would definitely recommend this. The process is very similar to adding a trailer light harness to a vehicle.

Easy Install with instructions (Wire Warning though)
Product works great, and install instructions were very helpful! Wire tap clamps were so easy to use as well, so thanks for providing those! BUT be careful with which wires you tap into for the tail lights. My wiring colors were different than the video (this is normal, it was my mistake for not checking) so when I followed the video I tapped into the wrong wires. What I did was find an 86 forum with the wiring mapping of the tail lights and tapped into the corresponding wires that I needed to make the brake light and reverse light work accordingly. I attached the wire map for the driver side tail light in the pictures, remember ground wire is always black, so you can use that as reference. 4th brake light looks sick at night, and it compliments the Valenti tail lights in such a gnarly way! Thanks my dudes!

Wiring is a bit confusing, not an issue though. Still worth 5 stars.
Love the light. Even with the stock exhaust on my 16 FRS it didn't take long at all to install. The directions are pretty clear, and there's videos online for how to install it. The light comes with 2 new clips. The stock screws can be used, but the stock clips can't be used since they're a different size. The ones that come with this light are better anyways. As others have mentioned, the wiring colors are a bit confusing- because there are so many options. It comes with a harness which you may not need to use. You can have the little triangle light up with the V, or only when you press your brakes, or the other way around, etc. I have the V light up with my headlights, and the triangle when I press the brakes. I get a lot of compliments, it really changes the look of your car from behind. Giving it 5 stars, even though the wiring is confusing at first, it's not difficult at all to just try out the wires and get it going how you want. Also running the harness isn't hard. Overall took 1.5 hours, including gathering tools, checking videos, cleaning up, etc. Buy it!

Most mediocre light
Pros: looks good, fits nice, no problems there. Cons: wiring. The wiring was an awful situation and overall it was a pain. The connectors didn’t work and I ended up having to solder the wires together instead. Also, if you need a longer wire, just make that wire longer. They make it all confusing with all the extra junk. Looks a solid 7/10 might swap for vland later but this was such a pain I’m gonna run it for a bit

Wiring is a pain
Recently installed so we’ll see how long they last, but they look good from when I tested them out after putting them in. In regard to the installation process, the wiring took way longer than it should’ve which is why I’m giving 4 stars and not 5. A 30 min job turned into a 3 hour job due to trying to figure out the wiring. The instructions were not correct for my car. I installed on a 2013 brz, couldn’t figure out why the break light was not turning on at all. If anyone else buys this for the first gen brz and has issues with the brake light not working- the brz stock harness green wire goes to the brown wire on the light piece- which is how the break light will work, just an fyi so you don’t spend as much time as me lol.
