It's so accurate, it's like it's watching your every move.
This ring is almost eerie! Those are the words of my daughter. I have been wearing the ring for almost 3 months and was impressed by the accurate information it was giving me regarding my health. Don't think for a minute that I didn't check the accuracy of the readings. I did!Recently, I lent the ring to my youngest daughter because her husband received a bone marrow transplant and she works in the public. She needed a way to monitor her health so she could keep her husband safe. She has worn it almost two weeks. She was skeptical at first, but now is sold. She said she will be buying her own.Of course, I will let her keep mine as long as she needs it and I will eventually get another one. I hope to purchase my older daughter one too, as her husband is in bad health and she works in hospice and needs to know when she needs to take extra precautions to keep him safeIf you are questioning your need for this, I advize you to take the plunge. You won't regret it. You and your family are worth the cost. You can't put a price on keeping you loved ones safe.

Quite useful, despite some quirks
I bought the Oura 4 primarily to analyze my sleep, but I have ended up wearing it all day. I have an apple watch ultra that is fine for daytime activities. I thought the Oura would be better for analyzing sleep because it has the SpO2 sensors for oxygenation, and the battery lasts much longer after a charge than the apple watch. The information it gives me about the quality of my sleep is better than I expected, and I now have a better understanding of what my issues may be at night. It shows you when your oxygen levels varied during the night, which is useful, but one of its quirks is that it doesn't show you the actual timeline of blood oxygen values. I would really like to see the actual values and not just the periods of variability in a timeline. It does give the average value during sleep, and it seems to think my sleep is ok, which reassures me that I probably don't have sleep apnea. Also, I wore both my apple watch and the Oura for two nights, and they gave significantly different values for the total time awake during the night. From my own memories of waking up, the Oura seemed to be more accurate. Also, I came across a research study (paid by Oura) that compared it to the apple watch, and it claimed that the Oura was more accurate for judging time awake. My biggest surprise was today, when the Oura app told me that I was essentially under the weather and I should rest today. In fact, I haven't felt very well since yesterday. It was amazing to me that the Oura determined that. It said my nighttime temperature was elevated and my breathing rate higher than usual. But, in another quirk, it did not actually give me the numbers to back up these conclusions. Did Oura think I could not handle the truth? :) Oura likes to give general conclusions, like your activity levels are fine, your sleep was fine, etc, but it seems like it tries to avoid giving you all the raw data in some cases. I found that very annoying at first, but I am getting used to it. It does give you a time line of activity and HR. I have only had the Oura for a week, and the app has mentioned that it is establishing my baseline for the first couple of weeks. I assume that once the baseline is established, it will be able to tell me whenever I fall outside my usual range on different measures. That should be very useful. I didn't expect to like the Oura ring as much as I do, because I thought it might not provide much more information than my apple watch. But it actually does, at least during sleep. When I think I may be coming down with a bug, it is reassuring to know when the Oura thinks so too. It is also nice that I don't have to recharge it for several days. The Oura cannot replace an apple watch, of course, because it does not display messages and does not have access to apps that I use. The best of all worlds is to have both.

The "Oura Ring is Life"
I LOVE love this ring. My hubby bought this for me on my Birthday and every morning I can't wait to open up the app on my iPhone with all the data from the previous night. Believe it or not I have improved my sleeping patterns and getting better rest, longer deep sleep and Rem. It monitors resting HR, Oxygen levels. Body temp, Daily Activities, Cal burn and a ton more stats. You can go back and see every day since the ring was put on. Love it and looks good on. I charge it once a weekly and charges in a few hours. If you are someone who cares about your health, make the investment and you will not be disappointed. Be sure to get it Oura sized before ordering. I just went to Best Buy and they had a ring sizer you can use.

Good but bulky.
Ordered this to help track vitals and health info as I navigate perimenopause. The features are helpful, though it takes about 60 days to gather enough information to establish enough data for patterns. The ring seems to hold a charge for 3-4 days before needing to charge again. The biggest drawback (aside from the monthly/annual fee in addition to the price of the ring) is the thickness of the ring. For someone with smaller hands, this ring is quite gaudy. It separates my fingers and feels very awkward. I think perhaps wearing it on a pointer finger would help minimize the awkwardness. However, in trying to reduce the amount of stress on the ring by wearing it on a lesser used finger, I am hoping to reduce wear and tear to the ring. Overall, it is a practical tracker and I am enjoying the benefits of the ring. I do hope they will continue to slim down the ring’s profile for future models.
