At this price, I truly expected this to be a lower quality piece of furniture. It is an excellent value. I bought it to stage my home for selling and cover up an ugly non functional fireplace.This is a nice and heavy piece of furniture. The finish on the laminate is extremely durable and resistant to scratching. The laminate is on all sides of the pieces so you don't have to worry about seeing expressed particle board from any angle.It was extremely easy to put together with just a drill (electric screwdriver would have been finetoo) and a short Phillips head screwdriver. I did it by myself in about 90 minutes but it probably would have been easier with another person.Having assembled my fair share of Ikea furnishings, I can honestly say that they should take a lesson from this manufacturer. I had no fear of cracking particle board or screws going off center. Pilot holes were pre-drilled, everything lined up perfectly and the largest screws have metal threaded receivers embedded into the pieces. It is really solid.I should mention that you have the option to choose the brick look or to choose the wood finish for around the heater itself. I didn't really get that from the description but it's nice to have options.I live in Arizona so I really can't speak to the heater portion of this. But when I turned it on it blew out hot air and adjusted as I turned to the temperature up. So I'm going to count that as working.

This is a well-made fireplace. We like the flip-top feature of the mantel. It's a nice addition to have a little hidden storage. The mantel is a nice thick natural wood tone. The brick is faux brick, of course, but has a realistic look. Living in Florida we have not had to use the fireplace heat as of yet, but the flames are realistic-looking and it's nice to be able to have the flames on without the heat. We did, of course, try the heating aspect of the fireplace when we got it and it does put out very good heat. The assembly took one person about 45 minutes to assemble. The directions were clear. This fireplace is a little slimmer in design than some we had looked at, but it works well for our space. Overall, the only thing I would change is the height of the fireplace. It would be nice if it were or had the option to order one taller by maybe 6 inches. That's just my opinion based on the fact we have 10-foot ceilings, so it makes the fireplace look a little short. We are still happy with the purchase and would recommend this fireplace for sure. The feature going for it is definitely the flip-top lid with storage.

Good quality wood. The bricks are contact paper but look ok. Took me 5 hours to put together. Did it by myself so it’s doable. Worth the money

Absolutely lovely fireplace. It makes my home truly feel like home, and it warms the place up beautifully. Customer service is truly excellent, as well.

Relatively easy to set up, the off white color was perfect for what I was desiring, and the flames and heat work great. Pic is while my house is still under some construction but can’t wait to start using the mantel and the extra storage is a wonderful bonus.

The fireplace is slightly different than I expected, but not in a bad way. The brick is a printed picture and not texture, but that actually works perfectly for my needs. I plan to tile over that area. The brick doesn't look bad at all though so you can totally leave it and have the unit look amazing. The flip top does open wide than I thought, but that makes accessing contents easier. The heat output is wonderful and when it is only turned on in light mode (no heat) it's just the right amount. The build was easy enough for my husband to do the full build himself in under an hour. We love it under our bedroom tv.

This electric fireplace fits perfectly where we needed it. The flip top holds a video gaming system, several controllers, and lots of connecting wires. It keeps our north facing room warm without heating up the whole house. While the “brick” front does not look great, it doesn’t bother me as much as I thought. We might change that part later. The rest of the framing is heavy and nice. We really love this thing and it looks like it was custom made for our spot. It made this chilly room a place we all want to be on a winter evening. Would DEFINITELY recommend it.
