OK, color was off

I used this product for almost 50 years, through every name change, etc. It no longer seems to be available which is just a crime! There doesn't even seem to be a replacement product out there. I thought I'd be grey by now but I'm not so I'm at a loss for what to use. Clairol, please bring it back! If it does make it back, let me say it was easy to use and always gave me exactly the results I was looking for.

I used this on my previously colored hair and the outcome was good, not orange or purple how they can be sometimes. The bleach has a strong smell, so think about having ventilation in the are where you use. It also dried out fairly quickly for me, which is when the bleach stops being effective. If you want a higher lift youll need to apply more product or foils to keep the bleach wet.

I bought this to hide my gray hair as my roots were going out. I have highlighted hair, so I had a combination of light brown and blonde hair to color. This product did a great job of making my highlights lighter. However, it turned my outgrowth, completely orange yellow! I look like a joke. I left the product on for 42 minutes and did not want to go past the 45 minute mark as I was concerned about frying my hair. I think if I left it on for maybe an hour to an hour and 15 minutes I would have the desired color but then I’m sure my hair would’ve fallen out. I will never buy this product again. In addition, the brush they give you to apply the product is a joke. I ended up having to use my hands and sorting out the different strands to highlight. It also says to mix the powder and developer into a creamy mixture. However, it becomes sort of coarse and clumpy and doesn’t really even out. I will never buy this product again.

This is my absolute favorite item to highlight my hair with. Its from a trusted brand in haircare and the price point is reasonable too. Its on my "Buy Again" list.

Most box dyes don’t work on my asian black hair, but this did without ruining or drying out my hair. I definitely recommend it! Make sure to buy a toner though. Definitely brassy results.
