Q: Does this knife and holster come with leg straps? If no where is a hood place to get some?

The cord thats attached to the bottom of the sheath is supposed to act as a leg strap. Another (better) solution is to buy some 1/2" nylon strap and buckles for it. Those can be looped through the 3/4" slots on the sides of the hard sheath. You can those on Amazon. Just be aware you'll have plenty of strap and buckles left over. Q: What exactly can you do with the lanyard at the end of the holster?

Hook it to a backpack or tie to your belt loop. Stuff like that.
