Rock Solid and More
The moment I received this ThermoPro TP53 Hygrometer / Thermometer and opened it, I was very happy I'd chose to buy *this* unit - rather than the dozens of others i could have chosen to purchase. First words in my mind were, "Now THAT'S what I'm TALKING ABOUT!" Fashion is not my goal in any way. My needs are strictly utilitarian, but for those looking also for "Simply Understated," I think perhaps you would also find this unit a wise choice. - The packaging is very minimal and well thought out. Great 1st impression - The instructions are clear and concise - Build quality, including fit and finish is PROPER, meaning the design of the molds is excellent - features such as the little kick-stand and battery compartment cover and latch work VERY well and are accurate and concise in their function. I will note, however, that when a feature such as the little "Kick-stand" (that allows the unit to be free-standing) are very small and there-fore, far more delicate and prone to breakage if dropped on a hard surface while extended. When retracted however, the hinge assembly is VERY well protected. - The material quality of the plastic seems excellent. It is quite hard, though it's quality will only be known as time passes. I will comment if it starts degrading as, poor plastics tend to show themselves rather quickly, even if they look and perform well at first. - The display is LARGE - and *very* nicely laid out! SUPER-EASY TO READ. If you have difficulty with vision, this MAY be good, though there are so many varying degrees of sightedness, (and therefore, lack thereof as well) YMMV - The backlight is pleasing to my eye as well, and I would describe it as "Neither harsh on the eye, nor so dim I still have to struggle to see the entire display clearly." In other words - I think it's just right - 100% of the way. Now, I can't actually rate - "accuracy" - ACCURATELY - (what with me not having any lab-certified whirligigs with superconductive something-or-others), but I took it into the bathroom after a hot shower - took it out on the porch and compared with local reports nearby, and stuff like that - and it seems pretty spot-on to me! Woo-Hoo! :) I also really can't comment on battery life in any meaningful way, because I just got it a few days ago. Besides, battery life may also be a bit subjective to factors such as A.) average temperature where it is used, and B.) How often and how long the light is on. I will update if battery life proves to be a big problem, but I'm pretty confident it'll be fine. I hope so, because honestly, i really do like everything else about this purchase. WELL DONE ThermoPro!

Work great! 100% recommend for functionality and price.
I have a hyper-fixation with temperature. We replaced our HVAC unit a little bit over a year ago and since then I’m constantly wondering what’s the temperature in the different areas of the house. I purchased a temp gun but it was not enough— I needed to see the numbers real live, quickly. I first ordered the black model (pic 3) and placed it in the kitchen about 5 months ago, but because our house is so big, I decided to order a couple of more. One for the kids passageway (pic 1) and one for our room (pic 2). These I just installed and they are pretty accurate for 20min in service. Last pic is our thermostat, set at 72. I’m overall happy with these gadgets; they definitely meet the mark and keep my hyper fixation in check. Would recommend.

Temperature reading is great but I don't trust the humidity reading
I was camping this past week in the rocky mountains and thought that I really wanted to write a review about this product I have owned the thermopro hydrometer for about 2.5 years now to use in my RV. I stuck it to the wall by the bed so I can see the temperature and humidity at night/morning. It has seen temps down to -8 and highs up to 89. It is one of the most reliable items in my RV currently that takes batteries. I have never changed the batteries in it but yet it still works no matter the temperature. I don't trust he humidity reading on it at all though. It swings all over the place in a matter of minutes and I have no idea why or how it pulls its reading. The light on I is awesome too for reading it when there isn't any light.

Very easy to use
I love this temperature -humidity monitor. It’s so easy to use right out of the box, just install the enclosed batteries, (except, I was trying to open the kickstand, thought that was battery compartment, no it’s under the magnet, that’s the battery opening). I like that it’s portable and move it where you want to monitor a room It is fairly accurate, when I check it against my house thermostat . I like that it tells you if it’s dry or wet humidity. I like the option to see a 24 hr span or all time span I like the button for backlighting. I do wish though, it had an auto light sensor, so when it gets dark, the backlight would come in automatically . Other than that it’s a pretty nice indoor thermometer.

Works well so far.
So far so good. Using for two upstairs bedrooms to monitor temperature & save on heating bill. Using one in crawl space to monitor the humidity.

The Temp an Humidity Monitor I was looking for.
This Item is pretty accurate by my observations. I have 2 other sensors nearby and this one generally reads the same as the other 2 indicating to me it's probably within 1 degree of accuracy. The 24 hr. High and Low readings are very helpful for tracking Temp and Humidity in my usually unheated garage. The magnet on the back is pretty strong and allows me to place it in any area where there is metal in addition to placing it on a shelf using the attached folding stand. Good Value, well constructed. The touch to light it up makes it easy to read wherever you put it and in the dark.

After accidentally ruining my old glass analogue thermometer when I left it in my solar dehydrator and it got too hot (it had a range up to ~60 °C), I was in the market for a new one. Initially I only intended to get another glass analogue one, but after some investigation, a digital one seemed like a good idea for a few reasons: most models seem to include a hygrometer (to measure humidity) and they can show you the maximum and minimum temperature and humidity in the past 24 hours. After some research, the ThermoPro TP-55 came recommended and seemed like the best option. I was about to settle on it when I noticed a similar model - the TP-53. Comparing the two, this really seemed like the better model to me, as it’s more compact because the °C/°F button and the 24hr/all time buttons are on the back of the unit rather than on the screen. This means that the TP-53 doesn’t have (and doesn’t need) a touch screen like the TP-55, and these two little-used buttons are relegated to the back of the unit where I think they belong. I mean, how often are you going to be switching between °C/°F? You’ll press it once based on what your country uses and that’s it. Similar with the 24hr/all-time button - you might check it once in a while but that’s it. No need to have these buttons on the main screen taking up screen real-estate. From what I read, the accuracy and range of both the TP-53 and TP-55 is the same, or at least very similar. For the thermometer, from the ThermoPro website, -50 °C - 70 °C range with an accuracy of ±1.1 °C (±2 °F) (which doesn’t seem great to me, but I’ll live with it). The weird thing is that their website also specifies an accuracy of ±1 °C/°F for the TP-55, but this doesn’t make sense as the gradation of one °C is about twice as big as one °F, which would mean the accuracy for the TP-55 is either ±1.8 °F/1 °C, or ±1°F/0.56 °C but ± 1.0 °F/°C cannot be correct (I would like the company to clarify this, as if it’s the former, the TP-53 and TP-55 have the about the same temperature accuracy, but if it’s the latter, then the TP-55 has twice the temperature accuracy as the TP-53. For the hygrometer, the TP-53 has a range of10-90% relative humidity, with an accuracy of ±2% between 30%-80% RH, and ±3% outside of that range. If this is true, I’m okay with that humidity accuracy and range. And with a temperature range up to 70 °C, I should be able to sit it in my solar dehydrator to measure how warm it gets in there. The light on this model is also easy to activate with a touch-button on the front at the bottom of the unit, and I prefer the orange lighting to the blue lighting of the TP-55. One you press the light button, the screen lights up until you press the button again, or 15 seconds - whichever comes first. This works well. I’m using this thermometer in the living room, where it’s measurements help us decide whether to leave doors closed or ventilate or switch a fan on or cook something in the oven etc. It’s heading into winter here in Melbourne and I love being able to walk out in the morning and see the minimum inside temperature overnight. In summer, it’ll be good to see how how high the temperature got during the day. I can’t comment on the accuracy of the hygrometer as I don’t have another hygrometer to compare it to. But I’m assuming it’s roughly correct. It’s good to see how cooking in the kitchen affects the humidity, or how a dropping temperature increases the relative humidity (as cooler air holds less moisture than warmer air), and when we are approaching the dew-point (when the air is fully saturated). We have a bit of a mould-problem on our ceilings during the cooler months, when the warm air inside touches the cool ceiling at night and moisture condenses on it (because there is no insulation in the roof). This device will be useful for managing our mould problem. So far, no issues at all, except when I touched the screen while peeling off the plastic when I got it, the display went a bit funny temporarily. The device was really easy to set up and use. I’m hanging it on a nail, but it also comes with a magnet which to me seemed plenty strong enough, as well as a little stand if you want to sit in on a flat surface. And for AU$17 (AU$3 cheaper than the TP-55), it seems like a bargain. I registered online for a 3 year warranty (instead of a 1 year warranty), and hopefully if there’s any issues, I’ll be able to exchange it (as I read in other comments that other customers had difficulty with this). Would recommend.

It works smoothy, no doubt. Small suggestion: Seller please highlight in the description area that the battery comes with a thin plastic insulation which has to be removed for activating the instrument . Little things matters. Pros : Best part is the flawless, quality screen. Loved it. Guess the readings are accurate. Cons : 1. No 'always on' backlit to save power as its battery operated. Viewing in the dark possible by taking it every time in hand and swiping the button. 2. No clock/ time and day / week calendar. It is important for me, but I know it is not necessary for all people. 3. Stand is extremely small To overcome the above drawbacks I ordered next day another company's product from Amazon, one sold by the name 'Hasthip' @ Rs 999. This has a very large rectangular LCD screen, though not of great quality, looks like mini TV, a big clock, day and week shown, has alarm, runs on USB power, large, stable stand, high- low functions, backlit is always on and very bright, hence can be visible in the dark and accurate readings. NOT underestimating the product. Its a good instrument designed with essential functions for which it is meant for. So for me both instruments together gives complete functuanality, also gets comparison, to ensure that readings are reliable atleast within a range. PS: Be consistant in pricing except during Dewali sales etc. Saw a price drop of over Rs. 200 soon after getting the product which is not giving a good feeling.

Can get the same model for about a third of the price - on another local online purchasing site. Even another Thermopro brand, with APP, that can show the wave forms of the Temp and Humidity is just two third of the seller's price - with more features. Not sure why it is price like this though.
