Teleprompter monitor! Got a 10 inch 16:9 monitor with VGA, bnc, USB, HDMI, and av RCA jacks from Amazon. Made a box with a 45 degree slot, paint it black. Screwed in the monitor and webcam. Works great!

I have a real teleprompter and this glass delivers similar experience for a tiny fraction of its cost.

This glass from Neewer works well for the DIY teleprompter I'm building. For me, the glass feels a bit thin. I would like to see if Neewer will make a thicker glass (4mm) with rounded edges. For my small DIY project this 14" glass works. I have not seen any distortion and I can read the text as long as I cover the back with a shroud. Since the edges are square, this does cause some issues with the cloth catching it. To make this more portable, I would like to see some kind of case or something offered for purchase. Overall, for a small DIY project, this is working fine. I just worry since this Beam Splitter glass will be held at a 45 degree angle, I worry the thickness is not enough.

Scooped this up for a couple of DIY projects, most notably for a home-built teleprompter (and another visual effects experiment), and I've had some great test results with it so far. The glass is clear, almost entirely free from distortion (save for the slightest, nearly imperceptible bit at one corner), and feels pretty durable, which is nice if you're taking yours on the road. I'm experimenting with some different shading materials, and the visibility seems really good! A great budget solution if you have a clamp an some black foam core. Will update when I get the design and construction finalized. It's a great size for a desk-based recording studio, which was exactly what I needed.
