Does what you need it too
Simple, elegant and very well made, has linked to monitors and projectors time after time with no problem at all. Shame about the price, £10 would makes sense but apple do put everything at this price point so who cares, I get better PowerPoint style app on the iPad with Keynote-which is free so its worth it. Seems pointless getting android or windows when this connector and the keynote app are faster, simpler and more refined than anything google or Microsoft offer by miles.

Does the job but with a hefty premium
Unfortunately inly Apple stocks this adapter , and although I already had an Ipad to VGA (for previous generation of Ipad) I needed this for school. The convenience of having to carry it on my Jacket pocket instead of a heavy computer simply outweighs the steep price. At about 50 EUR is not cheap by any means but it does the job . You plug it in the class projector and it shows !!!Plus it can charge it at the same time with the socket placed next to the female input .

Does the job
Does what it says on the tin, if only it wasn't so bulky and expensive. Works with both iPhone and iPad I find it's a useful back-up to have if I'm going to give a presentation on a laptop, it can easily run a PDF from GoodReader in presentation format. It will also run Keynote and Outlook presentations. No audio obviously.I've been using it increasingly in meetings to share documents when someone else has provided a projector. Very handy.

Works well but overpriced
Works well and good quality but overpriced as are many Apple connectors. Unfortunately I have found that cheap alternatives are often a false economy.

For all big technology, it’s these small parts that make it work
These products are doing bad business because I first bought one in 2015 and only now have has had to be replaced, in fact I leave in work and this new one at home. Just a great wee piece of kit

No need to bring a laptop to meetings but beware of security
No need to bring a laptop to meetings any more, I just need an iPad and this adapter. Plug in and it echoes the iPad screen to the projector or monitor to allow display of documents, animations, anything that shows on the iPad screen really.VGA is old technology these days but from a practical point of view it's more likely to work anywhere, at least until digital connections take over.To make sure that I have a document available on my iPad, I generally e-mail it to myself (or keep colleague's e-mails with attachments in an online folder), then use the built-in iPad viewers in the mail app to display the document. For pdfs, I also use GoodReader which is much better than the built-in pdf viewer. To use another app, tap and hold the document in the mail app to see a list of icons for the apps that can open the document, then tap the required icon.Since the display on the projector/monitor is an echo of what's on the iPad, everybody will be able to see what you type, including passcodes and passwords. Just unplug the adapter or VGA cable when you're typing anything sensitive!

Overpriced rubbish - avoid
As with every other Apple product I've bought, this turned out to be massively overpriced rubbish. The Apple description is:"The Lightning to VGA Adapter supports mirroring of what is displayed on your device screen - including apps, presentations, websites, slideshows and more - to your VGA-equipped TV, display, projector or other compatible display in up to 1080p HD"This is a lie, it will not mirror what Apple won't let you mirror film from iTunes, Sky Sports, Sky TV or Virgin Media Anywhere.
