While functional and handy, the plastic that this cupholder is made of feels super brittle. It’s marked “PC”, which I assume means “polycarbonate,” but I don’t know. Like, it folds up and works fine, but trying to adjust the cup holder arms is awful. Sounds and feels like they’re going to snap off. Loosening the screws didn’t help either; it’s just part of the design.The included mounting screws are fine, but the adhesive tape is weird. It’s plenty strong adhesive, but the back of the cupholder is not flat, so it’s just kinda holding on to these little raised ribs in the plastic. Maybe you’re supposed to use both screws and tape at the same time?Oh well. It’s a classic cupholder design that I’m pretty sure has been around since the 80s, so you can’t really go wrong. Just wish it were made of a more durable plastic.

I mounted this to a piece of scrap wood and stuck it next to my bed as a test. I've only been putting water bottles that are closed in it while I was testing it but it's been working very well. I plan to mount it on my wall soon now that I know it will work good. I like that it folds up into itself to be out of the way, however it does need to be clasped back together before it will close up. It's strong enough to hold most cups but not a huge heavy glass. It came with some adhesive pads as well as screws but there isn't really anywhere flat on the back to mount it in so I don't see how you could really use the adhesive pads.
