Wonderful knives!
I bought this set of knives primarily on appearance as I wanted something colourful and modern to go in my new kitchen - and in that department they really do excel. They look absolutely gorgeous and really do add a nice splash of colour to my (admittedly already quite colourful) kitchen and regularly get commented on by visitors. With this set you get five different types of knives; a small pink paring knife, a blue boning knife, an orange bread knife, a green carving knife and a red cook's knife. All of these knives feel really nicely made and have nice rubberised handles which make them easy to grip when chopping stuff. They're not too heavy either and, since the cutting edge is on both sides on each blade, are suitable for left & right-handed people.I remember being pleased with them when they arrived and mostly happy with their cutting abilities. The small pink paring knife, while used infrequently, is pretty good at small jobs, but is far outclassed by it's blue-coloured neighbour. The blue boning knife is possibly the most frequently used of all of them as it is a multi-talented knife that can be used for nearly any task as it's really, really (watch your fingers with this blighter) sharp and versatile. I felt that the orange bread knife was a little disappointing at first as it seemed fairly blunt but after further use I got the hang of using it and, while it's still not the best bread knife I've ever used, is perfectly adequate for the task. Since I'm vegan I've no use for a carving knife and it's the least-used of all of them, but it's very sharp and good at cutting stuff! The big red cook's knife is the second most used of all of them and is a dependable big chopper. It's pretty sharp and good for a variety of tasks and can cut through tougher veggies such as turnips and butternut squashes with only a little bit of persuasion. The slight curve on the cutting edge makes it easy to slice and dice and chop with ease, and it's possible to cut things very thinly with it.I've had these knives for a while now (over a year) and they're holding up very well and are still (almost) as vibrant and colourful as they were on the day they arrived, with the exception that a couple of the handles on the more frequently used ones have faded a little after being washed umpteen times, but it's nothing to complain about in the grand scheme of things. Unlike other reviewers, none of the paint on the knives has flaked or cracked. After some sharpening (using a bog standard and cheap IKEA sharpener) I've been able to keep these knives nice and sharp, so have not experienced any problems with them dulling or becoming so blunt that they've not been able to cut through things. All in all, I'm still happy with them and can see them lasting for a very, very long time.

Stylish, bright, ergonomic and very, very fit for purpose. Buy them!
Absolutely brilliant on all fronts, Stylish, both handles and blades are coloured and are shown off beautifully in the knife block, which is sturdy enough for the job, they look great in my new kitchen. They are comfortable to hold, I have quite small hands and not a very good grip due to a muscle and ligament problem but these are lovely to handle, non slip too. The only gripe could be that bits of the item you are cutting can gather around the handles edge but that is easily scrubbed off. The paint on the blade of the pairing knife has scratched very slightly but that is the hubbies fault for using it for something it's not meant for. As you sharpen them I imagine the very edge of the blade will wear but that is to be expected and as it is on the edge it doesn't spoil the look of the knife. The blades are sharp, I had a set of celebrity chefs knifes for years and they have been rubbish, always blunt and never easy to handle, these are really, really sharp, taken off three finger nails so far!! I bought the scissors too and they are just as good. Beautifully made, sturdy, look like they will last forever. Would I recommend them, yes buy them you will not be disappointed.

Fantastic Budget Knives
I have had these knives for a few weeks now, and I can say that they are brilliant. There are very sharp (which counter to what you would think, is actually safer than a blunt knife) and so far have stayed sharp. They are also very easy to grip, as the title might suggest. The colours are great and are on the blade as well, which is hard to see in the picture. They look great in the display block, and as a design student, I am very happy with this set.The only drawback that I would say is that even though the compartments in the block do move to be in front of each other, they won't do this when the knives are in it, as the handles block it. This isn't a major concern for me, but it would be nice to choose to have them either fanned out or stacked.Overall, this is a fantastic product, especially considering the price. This was a perfect set for me, being a university student, and all my housemates agree. Much better than the "budget" set from wilko that were more like blunt saws!

Not as good as the other reviews may suggest
I have owned these knifes for about 3 months now. The base is nice and the coulered knifes add some colour to the kitchen. The handles feel good and are easy to handle.Sharpness: Initially they were extremely sharp but some of this was already lost after about 1.5 months.Colour: The coloured blades look great, however the colour on mine has already started to come off.I should note that I do put these in the dish washer which may have caused some of the colour to come off. This should however not be an issue.
