ENGEL 13qt Leak-Proof, Air Tight, Drybox Cooler and Small Hard Shell Lunchbox for Men and Women

Ordered the 13qt to replace a soft cooler I used as a lunch box. This thing is awesome! Super light, smooth surface that’s easy to clean. Can hold a days lunch/snacks/beverages with ease. The carry handle built in to the lid is a bonus. If there is any complaint, the strap is a bit minimal. No padding or anything to make shoulder carrying easier. It’s honestly not bad but I wish they maybe sold a fancier strap maybe as a separate item. Not enough to subtract a star in my opinion. Super durable, heavy duty latches are killer, bonus dry container to elevate and keep items dry is also a plus. This cooler is well made, I use a lunch box everyday and this thing is worth the money.

This cooler has been used as my lunch box for the last few months. Keeps two freezer packs frozen all day in the FL heat. Holds all my food and snacks and multiple drinks. The latches are holding up great, so far no complaints with this purchase. Would buy again

After reading a lot of the reviews on this cooler I thought I would chime in. The cooler so far after 4 days of use seems pretty good. I felt like it could be more robust from an appearance, only time will tell. Two days of trying frozen gel packs that don’t freeze all the way wasn’t very useful using this cooler. I had this in a semi with no a/c for a day and the outside temp was 92 and it did okay. That day and from now on I use a Nordic ice pack, which is a frozen block and a freezer gel pack I get from Schwann’s/Melo. It kept things cold. That’s the best method for this box otherwise you will have barely cool items. I’ve seen some comments on the strap. It’s pretty sturdy although the buckle doesn’t have teeth for the strap to bind, it will slip right apart. Workaround is bring the tail end back over the top and loop it back. I took a pic of mine and it holds like no other. Two months of harvest among us and I will update after it gets abused.

I work at a coal mine, others like RTIC I have used and may brands of lunchboxes will only lasted about one year, the soft side ones with zippers the zipper will break in a year.I got this one Jan 14, 2022, I run a D-11 cat when you stand just outside of the door your about 9-10 feet off the ground and about 4-5 feet above the steel tracks, I stepped out to go home and dropped this box it fell a good 8 feet from shoulder height to the tracks bounced a few times hit the push arm and landed on the ground, I just knew it would be busted up, when I picked it up there was no damage I'm using it to this day. and I have no doubt that I will be using it 2 years from now everything works now as it did when it was new. coal mine equipment is unforgiving on anything that is in it or on it, it will tear up everything. There are other workers with this same box and not one of them have had any trouble out of them. Now with that sad this is a day box No it will not hold ice for days how long I do not know I use it for a lunchbox, and I'll put two thin ice packs in it, and they will steal be partly frozen when I get home about 13hours later I will also use it for day outings on the boat or at the beach and it works nice for that because its small and lightweight. the one I have is the 13 QT.

I love this cooler for big or small events. Works great pool side. Kept ice all day for my drinks. Got many compliments on the color. My new go to cooler!

Really pleased with our Engel cooler. I needed a cooler that would hold its temperature for 24/36 hours. The cooler performs really well if you pre cool it first.Cooling the box over night with ice before adding the bits you want to transport and either ice or gel ice packs does keep everything lovely and cold for up to 36 hours which is what we wanted.We also love the look of the cooler which is finished in Grassland. It’s slightly vintage looking and works well in the environments we have used it in.I think the test of most items is the comments you get from others and the Engel cooler has definitely has some positive responses from friends.In short, it’s a great cooler on many levels and we highly recommend you consider one.Or if you prefer, you could buy a massively over priced Yeti cooler which won’t do anything this cooler already does.The choice is yours!

It fits quite a bit, not as much as the large under armour - but with the ua, it got bulky and I couldn’t stand the floppy lid, and the crappy zippers. I wanted a cooler that sits upright nicely, that I could “pop” open easily while driving, without having to try to unzip it. This cooler is the right size, good latches and handle, and the strap is great. I stuck a bunch of stickers on it to personalize it more. Sorry, I’m not using it to keep food cold or use ice, because I have a fridge at work, I just use this as a lunch box. But ENGEL is Australian and has been around a long time, and makes very good products so I’m sure it works very well at keeping items cold. It also comes with a plastic insert to keep sandwiches off your ice.

I’ve had a few lunch boxes including the retro Stanley box which was way too small for someone working in the construction trade every day and those cheap amazon Chinese made cool bags which just flop and crease within 3 months. This is the best lunch box I have had so far, solidly built and big enough to keep a good supply of food and drink in to last a full day. You get what you pay for and I have a feeling this will last a while over the others. Looks cool too.
