I used a sprinkler attachment on the hose

No. We had a sprinkler aimed at it whilst the kids played. It is just a thick piece of tarpaulin, but it provided hours of fun!

Does ordinary household liquid soap work?

No you need special lube to ensure a slippery ride.

Can this be cut if you didn't have the full 10m available?
