Used for pool filter fittings. Worked OK, but the fabric is a bit bulky, can be awkward to work with but should last a long time

I have a Big Blue water filter on my well that uses 4" diameter x 10" filters. I change it every three to four months and in cold weather it can be a bear to rotate the canister with large plastic thread off to replace a filter. The standard plastic wrenches are a waste of money and generally break after the first or second use. I switched to a large heavy duty plastic rubber strap wrench and found that the strap holds but just stretches to a point where I think it is about to break leaving me to fall backwards across the well house. The day this new wrench arrived I used it for a filter change. I was a bit worried that the aluminum end would put too much localized pressure on the plastic filter housing. It did not. When set up properly pressing directly over a rib, the strap ends up with two layers of nylon cushioning to protect the filter housing and it definitely does not slip. This became a one-handed procedure that didn't take much effort at all with the leverage of this tool. I'm keeping one in the well house and buying another for truck and auto work while Amazon has this great deal. Absolutely A+.

This is my new favorite tool. I used it to remove a horribly stuck bonnet nut on my shower faucet. This works so much better than a pipe wrench. I know it's supposed to be for oil filters, and I'll probably use it for that on my next oil change. In the mean time, this makes plumbing repairs effortless.

I tried it on a piece of 2" plastic pipe and it slipped. Next I placed a strip of rubber around the pipe but the wrench still slipped. Seems to be a sturdy tool. Maybe it would work on metal.

Sturdy handle, but more importantly, the strap is a heavy belt of non-stretching fabric, as opposed to cheapies I once had with rubber straps. I use it for large pvc union and valve collars. You can apply considerable torque with this thing.

Strap wrenches can be pricey and we had one in the tool shed shared between four boats. That’s a lot of time (payroll) spent searching when someone doesn’t put it away properly. Found these, bought four and wrote each boat’s name on the strap. Problem solved. Size is perfect for oil filters and fuel filters on 600hp Cat diesels as well as smaller filters on generators.
