My wife loved doing this, but very addictive

I was a bit confused by the description for this item as it didn't look like the sort of diamond painting a kid would enjoy. Getting it out of the bag and having a good look I am certain this is not for kids. I would say it's not for beginners either. While the 'canvas' is printed to show exactly where each 'diamond' should be placed, it's really big and there are 26 different packets of 'diamonds'. Some of the colours are almost identical so the finished item should look great. But it's really complex so I think beginners might struggle or be put off by this. If you've some experience with diamond painting I'm sure you would manage just fine. I keep putting 'diamonds' because unlike many of these kits, the 'diamonds' are opaque, flat colours rather than the sparkly ones you often get. The kit comes with a little tray for the diamonds that makes it easy to pick up the colours and to put them back in the bags. But, with so many colours I feel like most of my time attempting this has been spent tipping out diamonds and tipping them back again. The kit also has two of the picky-uppy (technical term) pens and a silicon grippy thing (another technical term) that you can place on the picky-uppy pens to improve grip and reduce strain on your fingers. If you love diamond painting I think you'll love this. If you're new to diamond painting I'd suggest starting with something smaller and less complex. If you're buying for a child, I'd skip this one.

I really love the colours used in this diamond painting picture. The blues work so well with the gold. I’m almost tempted to get some gold coloured glue to accentuate the lines though! This kit provides you with everything you need to complete the picture. For those who are just getting started and might be daunted by this design, just take it one small section at a time and you’ll soon build your confidence.
